"This ring's to loose on me hon," Karen said when Jon came into the kitchen for his coffee the next morning, "It keeps falling off. I found it laying in the bed this morning, so why don't you wear it."
"Thanks Karen, now all the girls at the college will think I'm an old married man," he said, slipping the ring on his ring finger of his left hand. He stood as still as a statue for a few seconds, then his whole appearance changed slightly. "Do you think you can take off work today, sweetheart?"
"I guess I could, we're pretty well caught up at the office, why?" Karen answered with a question.
"I'll call the office for both of us then, we don't want to go to work on the day we're getting married." Jon said.
