I warned her not to mention the afternoon show with us, fearing a degree of petty jealousy. If things worked out, I intended to feign illness as the reason for putting her in my show at a time when the others were unavailable to take my place.
Only Caroline had been particularly keen to get a chance but she was busy in the afternoon in sole charge of the studio. I intended to give her a chance the following week if Angela proved herself worthy.
