"Shadya, don't worry, I'm still me," Jayson Hawthorne said, when they came up for air, though neither of them needed it any longer. Shadya looked at him and smiled, pleased to discover that although he'd changed, he still kissed her passionately. He's still the man I love, Shadya thought, thrilled by that realization. Hand in hand, the two of them left the house, and walked off into the night, to begin a whole new existence together. Vampire lovebirds against the world, Shadya thought to herself, and Jayson playfully slapped her leather-clad derriere, causing her to laugh.
