I tried to stay as calm as possible, my face not showing any sign of recognition, hoping he would leave me alone if I didn't recognize him. But even if my face didn't show any sign of recognition then the heart monitor did. The beeping had continued. My heart was racing and a dangerously smug smile graced his lips.
