Ilia awoke with a start from a nightmare in which a horde of draugr had cornered her. Myrna, laughing, stood looking on from a distance. Ilia felt the icy hands of the undead upon her and then gasped, opening her eyes to see the interior of the little room on board Kalissah's ship. Bergin and Kalissah were gone. Ilia pulled the blanket over her chilled body and curled into a fetal position. She could feel tears welling in her eyes.
