Ann hurried out of the room and Nancy went back to her bathroom to clean herself up. It was already after 10 a.m., and Paul would be expecting them over at his house soon. When she was ready, she headed back downstairs, noticing that the guest room door was closed. When she got to the kitchen, she cleaned the few dishes from that morning, and then sat outside on the back porch to wait for her sister and brother-in-law.
