I am not following any certain timeline for the World of Faerun and Forgotten Realms. Such as is this before or after the Time of Troubles, or the Spellplague, or the Drizzt timeline. I am huge fan of the Forgotten Realms genre so i made my story in that setting. I like the drow and the Seven Sisters so i am using them and the deities who are all too real in this world. Who knows maybe my Professor Habersham advised Ed Greenwood to help him create the Forgotten realms D&D campaign setting. :)

Elminster was Ed Greenwood's alternate persona, and in a few cases in the old dragon magazines he talked about how closely related he was to them. I met Ed at a few cons as well and he commented on how much of himself he put into Elminster and how that may have been part of why Elminster was "so wise". I'm not entirely sure if this is pre or post 4th ed you are using but if its before the rewriting of the realms then Elminster is easily found. Im also curious about "Ao" or the creator deity above Ao etc and how they view these people from alternate realities entering the world.
Just some thoughts.
Thank you for leaving the part about the rapes out. I am still finding it interesting that you are adhering so closely in some personality traits like Lou's fascination with Tech even though he is a mage. There are areas of the realms though that will support his love of science such as Kara-Tur, perhaps even Candlekeep and if they can manage it Sigil and some of the areas where Gond has sway.
Interesting potential still and thank you for doing some differentiation of characters.
