Click here"These are mine." She said as she pried the knives from his hands and with a thrust she sank the kukri into the throat of the drow and held it there. Rain could feel her blade's ecstasy at the kill as it drained the life from its victim and healed Rain's wounds.
Christie released her spell and the two feel to the ground. The last drow warrior was no coward but he knew when the the fight was lost and he tried desperately to free one of the lizard mounts to make his escape, but the giant lizards where in a frenzy as the scent of fresh blood filled their nostrils and one bit into his leg and then another tore into his torso and the drow was ripped in half by two of the lizards. Christie quickly turned and started to run to Natalie, who still hung unconscious.
"Christie, Michael needs you more." She heard Jason shout. "He is about to die."
Christie felt Rain's hand on her shoulder, "Go. I'll help Natalie and look for some of the healing potions."
As Christie ran to Jason and Ahira, Rain ran over to Natalie and cut the spider silk ropes that bound her. The half elf gently laid the unconscious elf against one of the wheels of the wagon and wrapped her naked body in a blanket and then searched the chests inside the wagon where the drow held Natalie captive. Among the drow supplies she found their armor and weapons, the food and water Aklice had given them, and the healing potions. Rain picked up Natalie's mage robe, the healing potions, the water skins, and some of the wafer cakes and returned back to the unconscious elf to find Lou bending over her and unlocked the collar around her neck.
"Here, go give the others some water." Rain told him and gave him two of the water skins.
Rain poured a healing potion over Natalie's wounds and as the liquid ran over her shoulders the wounds closed up. She then gently slapped the elf's face to wake her. Natalie's eyes fluttered open and Rain smiled at her.
"It's ok now, Natalie." Rain smiled and held another bottle of the potion to her friend's mouth. "Drink this and you will feel much better."
Rain placed the lip of the bottle to Natalie's mouth and titled it and the potion ran over Natalie's chin and mouth; the elf not swallowing any.
"Natalie, you have to drink it." Rain pleaded but the elf girl did not respond; she just gave Rain a blank stare. "Please, Natalie, drink it."
Rain tried again but got the same results. She then pinched the girl's nose and poured the potion in her mouth forcing Natalie to swallow it. The elf coughed as she swallowed but made no other response as she stared at Rain. Rain did the same with the water after Natalie had gotten enough potion in her to heal her body fully. The half elf looked up as Christie walked over.
"How is she?" The drow asked as she got on her knees in front of Natalie.
"She's healed but...but...I don't know...she won't respond to anything."
"Natalie, its Christie...Natalie." The drow priestess reached out to hold the elf.
Natalie turned her head to the drow as Christie touched her but she did not respond and just stared at the other girl with blank eyes.
"Natalie, it's just Christie. She's not going to hurt you." Rain comforted the elf girl.
Natalie just stared blankly at Rain.
"She seems...I don't know...it's like she is catatonic or something."
"Yeah....maybe I can heal her." Christie said.
Rain held Natalie still, who still just stared at Christie and did not move. The drow once again reached out and when her hands touched Natalie's face as Christie said a pray that sounded like singing to ask her goddess for healing power. A white light glowed and then faded over Natalie's body but still she just gave a blank stare.
Christie stood up, "Her body's fine...it's healed completely but her mind...I...I don't have the power to heal that."
Rain held Natalie and looked up at Christie, "What's wrong with her?"
Christie looked at her girlfriend sadly, "I don't know...but whatever they did to her they fucked her up pretty bad. When we broke free I sensed...felt the presence of something...a yochlol I think but it faded. Maybe there was one and did something to her before it left."
"Go heal the others and I'll try and get her dressed."
"You need healing also." Christie told the half elf.
"I'm fine...my knife healed most of my wounds and I can drink a potion for the minor ones that I still have." Rain protested.
Christie nodded and walked away as Rain dressed Natalie. Natalie seemed to respond to Rain's instructions when she helped the elf stand and when told to lift her arms, Natalie did so but other than that she just stared in front of her with a lost look on her face. Rain tried to feed her some of the wafer cakes but Natalie would not eat or respond in anyway.
"How is he?" Christie asked Jason as she knelt next to the paladin who was kneeling in front of Ahira.
"Why don't you ask me?" The dwarf said gruffly. "How's Natalie?"
Christie shrugged, "Not good. Physically she is fine but...but she...I don't know...in extreme shock maybe." Christie looked around, "Where's Lou?"
"In the drow's supply wagon looking for his spell book." Jason said with disgust.
"Well we need to get moving. We can't stay here and if those lizards get loose we are going to be fucked. We don't have the strength to fight them."
"I agree." Jason nodded. "What do we do? Go forward or try and find our way back to the surface?"
"Umm...I think they may have something to say about where we go." Ahira looked past his two friends.
Both Jason and Christie stood up and turned with their weapons in their hands. Jason dropped his sword to the ground.
"Fuck me." He said and bowed his head.
