As I was about to leave she just burst into tears again but I got the feeling they were just for the girls benefit. Sophie and Ava looked at me and raised their eyebrows, they knew.
"See you next weekend dad," Ava said as I walked to the door.
I walked back into the room as Holly continued sobbing and nobody paying any attention to her. I suddenly realised what Ava was talking about.
"Oh yeah the Coldplay gig, everyone is looking forward to it."
"Will we be meeting you guys in London or shall we travel together?" Sophie asked.
"I'll speak to Amy and let you know in the week," I said finally before leaving.
As I walked out the door I heard Holly shouting something but I chose to ignore it and left.

Stayed Too Long!
An enjoyable and entertaining story. However, I can never understand how a person can stay with a cheater for that long. Stay long enough to get everything ready and to be prepared ... but that would be a few weeks or a couple months at most...not years. I can understand being concerned for the kids welfare BUT they knew all about her cheating and bitchy ways. I don't know how legal everything he did was but it is a good 'fantasy' that he could get away with it. Thank you for the story.more...

I liked it, gave it a 5. Sometimes staying is the right thing to do, sometimes not. The final judgment would be on how the kids turn out. We are all products of our environment. He kept the peace for the childrens sake ignoring her disrespect.
But really was it better. Her children will be like their mother very possibly.
When children see disrespect it breeds disrespect.
It would not be hard to have the story written from her perpective and make it much more sympathetic to her.
If you don't stand up for yourself chances are you will be disrepected and he didn't for a long time and he was disrespected.more...
