With Michael gone Sally tidied up just to kill time. She also sat in with Michael's father, Sam, checking his drips, blood pressure and so on. As she looked at him, Sally could have sworn that he gave a slight smile. It made her wonder did he suspect anything about her relationship with his son.

True to his word, Michael returned just over two hours later. Sally had breakfast ready and they ate together. In the course of conversation Michael persuaded Sally to stay another night, not that she needed much persuasion. With Brian away it was just what she was hoping Michael would suggest. Sally and Michael enjoyed another wonderful night of passion before Sally returned home. Indeed, as Brian continued to ignore her needs, Sally found great comfort in Michael's arms. It was a relationship that would go on long after her patient, Sam Peters, died.
