I felt a little lost. Did he really mean he wasn't rushing me to meet in person but he wanted to? I couldn't make my mind work quickly enough to decide how to phrase this question before he changed the topic.

"You said you've got the day off tomorrow? Stay on the line and keep me company until I'm due on duty?" He cleared his throat and I heard him shifting around. "Shit in two hours and I have to shower but maybe we could chat another half hour?"

He didn't care and neither did I so we talked about nothing until he had to go.
