He opened the hatch and waved her through it, she was on the bridge and her master was sitting in the center chair. He pushed her forward and she climbed down the steps and stood silently beside his chair. Without a word the guard pushed her shoulder down and she knelt beside the chair. The captain snapped a magnetic leash onto her collar and looked down at her.
"Now, head up, hands on your knees, eyes open and no talking, not that you can."
Sparky opened her mouth to speak and only a gasp came out.
"I told you not to speak." He said with a mocking smile.
Sparky closed her mouth as a wave of pain shot through her body and she shuddered, but she kept her eyes open and locked fixatedly ahead and wondered what he had in mind for her this time. His hand rested on her head and began to stroke her hair; Sparky leaned into it just as a cat would. She could not understand why she was behaving this way; she could not even recall her real name. He did not speak to her all day other than to tell her to stay when he moved about the bridge. The salvage job was as complete as they could make it and they had left the area of the freighter, but not before leaving a sensor pod attached to a nearby asteroid to keep them informed of the fleet's movements. Fleet had arrived the day after she was taken and recovered the freighter and then left. The Destiny was now on the far side of the asteroid belt looking for more salvage.
