Sydney laughed loudly at first slip earning a fierce glare from his wife. He ignored her as he positioned Jason Williams in closer on the off side.
"This is going to make for some fireworks in bed," giggled Jennifer as she leant against Penny. The tall blonde gave the curls a gentle kiss before she slipped an arm around the girl.
"I think," she whispered, her lips very close to the soft pink ear, "that Sydney is going to find his wives are going to be quite a handful until the bullets and explosions start."
"Those explosions may not be that far away," Jennifer said softly as the warm pink tongue of Penny caressed her earlobe briefly. "Fuck it Pen," she moaned, "why are we all so fucking horny again? For the last few weeks I couldn't have given a rats about sex. Now I want to bury my face in your box and hear you screaming!"
"I know," said Serenity as she leaned into Jennifer from the other side. "My nymphomania went out the door for a while. I just wanted to fight someone. Sydney mostly," she sighed. "Now my panties itch to be ripped off and stuffed into my mouth while I get creamed!"
"I think it is something we are all feeling," came Kelsey's voice in her daughter's mind. "We all felt like we wanted to fight, now all we want to do is fuck!"
"It is because of the peace he, Robert, Willy and Ian brought about," sent Thelma. "We are all women again, not warriors. It is like we are all ready to fight but before that we want to get a filling of love, a lot of it before bullets and deaths close our legs as firmly as shackles."
"Well I think ladies, we are going to be spending a bit of time pleasing ourselves while they finish this series," sent Kelsey. "I do hope some of you have been taking lessons from Bonnie!"
The laughter from seven women around the small area where the partners and friends of the players sat was unexpected considering the situation on the field. Bonnie's head whipped back to the action as a resounding smack came from Belinda's bat. She couldn't help but cheer and clap as the ball ran across the green field at a rapid rate and slammed into the fence below them. Looking around she noted the other wives did as well.
"Traitors," guffawed big Suzy as she looked around. The big woman laughed as loudly as the rest.
"But she is one of ours!" cried Jo.
"More yours than his at the moment," laughed Lissa as she pointed to the big screen where Sydney's furious face was showing.
"Get over it Whirlwind!" cried out Shirley Bond. The rest of the crowd around her gave the batswoman a big wave as well as the Australian captain as he turned to grin at the crowd in the stands.
Gareth Peterson ended Belinda's frantic run spree. A slower ball just short of a length had the tall batswoman reaching a little early for the ball that she only managed to hit straight up into the air. Sydney bellowed for the catch that he moved only a few metres forward to take. Belinda Douglas gave her husband a grin as she walked off for her 63 runs off 38 balls. The islander's were 7 down for 302.
The last overs saw Aniki, Abraham and Brendan Stewart simply throw their bat at everything. Brendan was last man out on the last ball as Abraham and he tried for a third run off his drive to long on. Sydney sighed as the spectators cheered the final score of 343. It was going to be a big ask.
The happy group that greeted the players as they came back off the field for the changeover was bubbling with excitement. Sydney paused as Xavier clasped him in a hug as she waited for him beside the doorway into the room. Tenderly he held her to his chest.
"I am ok my husband," she sighed as she felt his hands run over her back. She knew that he felt for some beginnings of the deterioration of her body. Pressing her firm breasts against him she added, "Fill me tonight and I will be even better."
"I have to concentrate on this game first, my love," he said softly into her silver hair.
"Win or lose my warrior, I will be waiting for you," she murmured then let him go. Sydney watched Thelma and Kelsey clasped the doctor to their chests before giving him a small smile.
"When will she tell me the truth," he said to himself as he accepted a sandwich from Bonnie.
"She will tell you in her own way, warrior," said Alison from behind Bonnie. The two women and Jo were never far from one another anymore and Sydney grinned as the large breasted nurse smiled at him from where she stood only a few metres away.
"I guess she will, Alison," sent Sydney back to the golden haired woman. Of his daughters only Alison had found the ability to read him. It was strange that he was the only person she could read. Neither could she send her thoughts to anyone but Bonnie and Marion as the sisters shared their blood link.
As Sydney returned to the centre of the ground he felt the electricity in the air as Belinda directed her players to positions. He was not surprised to see Aniki holding the ball as the tall woman stood talking to him. Belinda's arms waved and a piercing whistle came from her lips as she directed Glen Shields to come in off the long off boundary. Big George smiled at him from first slip as he took centre from the umpire.
"Don't worry George, I am not taking it easy on you lot tonight!" he said as he watched his wife take up her position in gully.
"Good luck Whirlwind!" she called, before turning her attention back to Aniki. "Take his head off, Ani!" she screamed.
"Just fucking lovely that is," Simon Hunter muttered at the other end.
Sydney concentrated hard as Aniki ran in. "This will not be short," he said to himself and readied to move into the game.
Sydney's prediction that the ball would not be short proved correct as the ball slammed into his bat as he moved barely a pace forward to meet it on the full. Aniki snatched the ball out of the air as it bounced up off the pitch. With the shot Sydney found himself calm, he was a batsman now, not a captain, husband or anything else. He had a job to do and chasing as many of the 343 runs as he could was what it was all about.
Simon Hunter grinned as he saw the change come over his partner and readied himself to play his own part. The calmness around Sydney was almost measurable as ball after ball was met with purpose and confidence. Simon found himself in the same zone and the two raced the score along quickly.
It barely registered to Sydney the change in bowling. Aniki, Abraham, Brendan they were all the same, different speeds and angles but he automatically adjusted. As the crowd clapped the pair bringing up Australia's 100 runs he took another look around the field and was surprised that Belinda had moved from gully. He grinned as he looked for her everywhere on the ground except the other end of the wicket. "Change of bowler, Sydney," called Harry.
Eyes flickered upwards to see his grinning wife tossing the ball around in her hands as she called a few players to move minutely. Again that sense of not having taken enough notice of anything but the jiggling, bikini covered breasts and arse struck him. He had watched Belinda bowl to Kelsey and Xavier on board the Majestic but he had no idea what she bowled. Lustily his thoughts turned to the last time he watched and he could only handle it for a couple of deliveries before he had picked her up and raced her over to the showers. Her cries of surprise had turned to moans of lust as his kisses landed on her stiffened nipples.
Sydney reached forward to the ball that landed on middle stump, his hands moved fast as the ball kicked and spun viciously towards the off. "Leg breaks!" he said to himself surprised as the ball landed in Clarry's gloves without him managing to get an edge.
The next ball landed in the same place and Sydney watched it moving towards off again and cut it to the man on the point boundary. He and Simon strolled a single. Watching his wife clap the throw back in over the stumps he saw that her nipples were hard points against her shirt. Belinda gave him an excited grin as she took the ball and made some minor adjustments to the field for Simon.
Watching the first balls Sydney had received from Belinda had made Simon nervous. Very little got past Sydney's bat and to see the first ball spin that far had the little batsman edgy. Belinda had good control of her action and the next few balls beat Simon's probing bat as she bowled her aggressive leg spinning deliveries. Sydney gave Simon a small nod even though his partner had missed the first two by quite some way. The next ball was a little wider of off stump and Sydney almost cried out as Simon backed away to cut the ball in a similar manner to the way he had, the ball spun back the other way and crashed into his partner's exposed stumps. Belinda had a very good googly in her arsenal. Sydney could not help but nod to his wife in acknowledgement of a fine piece of bowling.
Simon gave him a shrug as he walked past as Belinda bounced in delight with her teammates.
Jason Williams met Sydney just past the square leg umpire. His grin was infectious and Sydney found himself wondering what the man was up to. "Little bugger can spin them heh?" Jason said.
"A fair way too, matey," answered Sydney.
"Well you hold up an end, I grew up on good spin bowling. My old man was one of the best," Jason said back as he walked to the crease as Sydney headed back to the non-striker's end.
For the next half hour Sydney watched in amazement as his young friend lived up to his boast. Sydney barely faced a ball as Jason cut, drove and danced his way through the three spinners that Belinda used. Brendan Stewart muttered darkly under his breath as Jason thrashed him to all parts of the field. Even Belinda's nipples were soft again in her shirt as Jason read everything she threw at him and treated it either with respect or lifted it high into the grandstands.
By the time Belinda's overs were finished Australia was only 70 runs from the target with both Sydney and Jason full of confidence. Aniki and Abraham tried hard but the two batsmen, regarded as the finest at their game, prevailed with three balls to go. As the two men hugged in the centre of the pitch as the winning runs came up from a fiercely struck drive from Sydney's bat Belinda gave them both a pat on the bum in congratulations.
Sydney grasped Belinda's hand and in front of the hugely cheering crowd he gave her a full kiss on her soft lips. "You bowl pretty damned good, baby!" he exclaimed. "Just that Jason's father bowled better. When you only have one son I guess he gets to see a lot of Dad's bowling!"
"Garry Williams was my coach for a while, Syd. I forgot his son was your bloody protégé!" the woman said as she punched Jason on the shoulder.
The players met in the area out front of the gates with handshakes and well done exchanged between the two teams. Belinda took her team for a walk around the park to thank the fans for watching and they cheered her heartily despite the loss. "Great game, Carmela," screamed the fans and held up posters showing messages for her and the team.
Sydney and Jason relaxed in the player's room with a beer before Sydney told the young man that he had learnt a valuable lesson today. "What's that Syd?" asked the puzzled young man.
"Look beyond the obvious," he replied quietly. Rising he headed for the showers and shortly afterwards found himself in the arms of Xavier who waited breathlessly for him in his motel room.
Chapter 2 – Villes des Coeurs
"Do you remember Villes des Coeurs, Enyalius?" asked Xavier softly as she snuggled into the warm chest of her husband. The sun had risen as they lay together. Sydney had come to his room late last night to find her waiting for him. Instead of taking her as she wanted desperately he had simply held her in his arms. A soft touch of his hand across her temple had sent her to sleep almost instantly.
As the day dawned she felt him stir to life against her warm soft backside as he held her spooned against his chest. She was more than ready for the entrance of his rampant weapon into her saturated sex and eagerly pressed back against him to ensure he knew.
Her body was tingling with life. To her it seemed that Sydney knew of her needs. His rampant cock had almost split her in two as they fiercely ground against each other. With soft cries she accepted the hot spurts of his seed deep inside her womb. It surprised her that he did not withdraw from her afterwards, rather his strokes slowed for a moment before he resumed his delightful pummelling of her molten sex. She giggled as she felt the wetness between them after he had filled her for a third time.
"The City of Hearts," he replied.
"Yes," said Xavier as she lifted her head a little to catch his eyes with her own.
Sydney thought for a moment. Xavier knew very little of the ancient city, she had only been there for a short time. He banished the thoughts of Xavier's presence at the ancient outpost, it was not a story for her now. Of all of his current army there were only five of them that knew the secret of the once beautiful place. Himself, Sam, Maru and Robert. The other resided in comfort in the scar on his leg.
"What do you know about the legend of the city?" he asked.
"Only what Nugua and Robert have told me," Xavier answered shyly. Sydney's intense gaze at her was making her feel very much like a school girl. She had never seen him look so intense.
"What should I know about it, Sydney?" she asked.
"Everything and nothing," was his cryptic reply.
Confused, she dropped her gaze. "Nugua told me that some of you met something there that changed you. She said you carry it with you always."
"Nugua has a big mouth," laughed Sydney breaking the tension he realised that he had inadvertently set off in the room. Tension was the last thing his beautiful woman needed just now.
"All the better to swallow your balls, baby," giggled Xavier. She was relieved that Sydney had relaxed and smiled as he laughed harder at the goddess' admission of enjoying her lover's testicles trapped in her mouth at some time of their play. All of the wives knew that Sydney could be made to orgasm quite quickly and forcefully if his nuts were gripped with either hands or mouths firmly.
Xavier rolled over and sat up in the bed looking down on her husband. His dark-blue eyes shone merrily as he looked back up at her. A large hand rubbed her hip affectionately. "So little one," he said softly, "you want to know why lying with me, Sam, Robert or Maru makes you feel more alive, refreshed? Why we seem to be able to push back the sickness?"
Silently Xavier nodded as unnoticed tears overflowed from her eyes at the soft deep tones of Sydney's voice. Deep inside her she knew that Sydney was aware of her couplings and the reasons why. To hear him say it without any trace of jealousy or anger made her feel ashamed of her secrecy.
"They called themselves the Seeurs. It was a name that we had no translation for so it was mispronounced as Coeurs. The were victims of Elam's rampage across a far off world. Escaping as their planet exploded they came to the earth around 200,000 years ago." Sydney's voice became soft and dreamlike as he described the encounter with a race that changed so many things in his ancient life. He mentally shrugged, still changed how he viewed life now.
Morning mist was just beginning to clear, moving with the gentle breeze that had blown up with the rising of the sun. Enyalius, Maru and Sam were still sleeping in their cocoons as Robert the Black, the giant scout that had accompanied them on their exploration, kept watch. Robert's vigil was probably unnecessary as there had been no reports of predatory creatures in the area for many, many years. Certainly nothing like the big cats and bears that had roamed the melting ice that had covered a great deal of the area a thousand years before.
The large animals had retreated with the ice back to the north where they were more comfortable than on the verdant plains and forests that now covered the region. Their white coats had made them easy to spot and, therefore, easier to hunt. As Robert threw some more sticks onto the small watch fire in preparation to place the kettle in the coals for breakfast tea he thought he saw a movement in the shrubbery just on the edge of his peripheral vision.
Stealthily he raised his weapon, a rifle, up into his lap from where it had been sitting beside him on the ground. The shrubbery seemed to move again, only this time some twenty paces from where he had noted the first bush move. He strained his eyes to make out what was causing it. Nothing appeared to be there but he felt the gentle touch of his leader's mind, "Lower your weapon, Robert. They are simply curious about your size and the colour of your skin."
His hands moved slowly as he followed his leader's instructions. Carefully he allowed his hands to show themselves as empty to whatever it was that observed him.
A bright and very round set of eyes appeared in the leafy bushes. At first Robert believed that it was all that he saw but slowly a figure with soft almost elf-like features became more noticeable in the cover they had chosen. Robert saw that the shrub was not quite as thick as it appeared as it seemed that the eyes and soft face was shrouded in greenery that matched the vegetation.
"Are there still some biscuits left in the store?" came Enyalius' gentle whisper in his mind.
Robert stood slowly and moved to the small pile of gear near the fold out table they used for dining. He retrieved a small bag that he reached into and withdrew several of the sweet biscuits that Enyalius' companion, Keltrea, had made and sent along with them on this expedition. He lay them on a plate on the table before picking up the kettle and placed it on the fire.
Enyalius was beside him when he finished. "They like sweet things, Rob," he said softly. The big dark haired man grinned at his giant companion before he fished out the tea and sweeteners from another bag. Robert saw another set of big round eyes appear in the bush beside the first one as Enyalius absent mindedly scratched his crotch before setting cups on the table.
Sam and Maru continued to sleep, nothing unusual thought Robert as he added the leaves to the now boiling water. The pair could sleep anywhere and no-one begrudged them extra time in their beds after what they had endured in their torturous lives before. The big giant smiled with affection at the two men as they snuggled against one another in the cool morning.
He turned slowly at the sound of what at first sounded like a laugh. Eyes wide he watched as Enyalius handed some of Kel's biscuits to a third small figure that accompanied two others that leaned comfortably against the man's legs as he sat on one of the camp chairs. "See I told you they like sweet things," whispered Enyalius.
"You have met them before, Enyalius?" asked Robert as he tried to stifle his gasps and confusion by retrieving the now boiling pot from the fire.
A startled squeak came from the mouths of the three small beings and they fled. Their movement was too fast for Robert's eyes to comprehend properly. It almost looked as if they flew across the ground, the only mark of their passage was the movement of bush and some small trees as they went. Enyalius began to chuckle. "They did not expect the walking black stone to speak," he said to his startled companion. "You are an enigma to them Robert. They have never seen a man as big as you nor with the ebony colour of the stones they hold so important in their minds.
"It could be a very interesting meeting later this morning."
"Meeting?" queried Robert as he stained the hot strong tea into the mugs that Enyalius held for him.
"Yes, we are to meet with the elders of the Seeurs at mid-morning in the caves just a little way up the hills from here," Enyalius replied. He pointed to the south-west. "The last of the people live inside the city they have built into the sides of the mountain range.
