Upon discovering that the Captain wasn't at his apartment, Patricia roamed the town of Redoubt, where ordinary men and women of all hues, the last remnants of the human species, went about their day. For some reason, she felt drawn to the catacombs, which she knew was someplace where some foolhardy types went for illicit activities like casual sex, or doing illegal drugs. Perhaps Adnan had a bad habit...
Patricia had been wandering the catacombs for quite some time when she heard voices, and the sound of fighting. Hurrying through the darkness, the soldier headed for the source of the noise. She arrived in time to see a woman grab a man and toss him against the wall with incredible strength. Astonished, Patricia gasped when she realized that the man being flung was Captain Adnan Samatar...
"Human meat," said the woman, turning her attention on Patricia after slamming a sharp piece of wood into Adnan. Patricia hefted her rifle, and took aim. The woman came at her, moving with a speed and ferocity that the extinct predator known as a cheetah would envy. Patricia fired three shots into the woman, who howled in pain but didn't stop.
"Oh shit," Patricia said as the woman grabbed her, and drove a taloned hand into her belly, ripping her open. Hodan smiled victoriously as she let the bloodied and dying human female fall to the ground. Within minutes the woman would be dead, and Hodan didn't care to waste the blood. Bending to grab the fallen woman, Hodan didn't sense the threat until it was basically too late...
"Never underestimate your enemy," Adnan said as he drove the stake into Hodan's heart, killing her instantly. The female Vampire gasped, and then turned to dust. Adnan clutched his wounded belly, and looked at the fallen, lovely but dying form of Private Patricia Etienne. Sighing, he shook his head, wondering what he should do...
"Always knew you were different, thanks for gutting that bitch," Patricia Etienne said, looking at Adnan through eyes that were losing their focus. The young woman coughed blood, and then smiled up at him. Adnan winced. In his time among the humans, most of them loathed his kind once they realized what they were. Patricia Etienne didn't look at him with hate or fear, it would be a shame if she were allowed to die...
"You're welcome, Patricia, I have an offer for you," Adnan replied, as he knelt beside her, and took her hand in his. Patricia looked at him, and when his face drew close to hers, she didn't flinch. Adnan sank his fangs into Patricia's neck, and then he bit into his own wrist, drawing blood. He pressed his wounded wrist against her lips, and allowed his eternal blood to flood her dying body. After that, Adnan passed out...
"Wake up, Captain," came a voice, startling the hell out of Adnan. The Vampire woke up, and blinked in surprise as a very lovely, very naked woman looked at him. It took Adnan a moment to recognize Patricia Etienne, who flashed him a fanged smile. Adnan grinned as he remembered the events from before, the fight with Hodan, Patricia's interference, and her subsequent death and transfiguration...
"Patricia, you look magnificent," Adnan said, and Patricia grinned, then gave him the rundown. After he'd bitten her, she'd hovered somewhere between death and the state of the blood-drinking Undead, and then her transformation occurred. Arising as a new Vampire, Patricia crafted a lair for herself and for Adnan, whom she remembered saving her from the now deceased Vampire Hodan.
"You saved me, Adnan, so I saved you, I've been feeding both of us from rat's blood, hope you don't mind," Patricia said, and Adnan smiled, thankful that, in his absence, she hadn't gone after the humans of Redoubt. The two of them exchanged a smile, and it suddenly occurred to Adnan that he was stark naked, and in bed with a very naked, and very beautiful, newly Immortal woman...
"Thank you my dear," Adnan said, and he took Patricia's lovely hand and brought it to his lips. Patricia grinned, and then, playfully, impulsively, she grabbed his face and kissed him. When the nascent female Vampire straddled him, Adnan did not object. In fact, he caressed Patricia's tits and smacked her big round ass as he thrust into her. Patricia sighed happily and began riding Adnan, welcoming him inside of her.
After making love for hours, Adnan Samatar and his new apprentice Patricia Etienne looked for some clothes, then rejoined the human colony of Redoubt. They found the town under siege from Zombies...and some unknown others. The sentinels on the ramparts were panicking, for there were some creatures scaling the walls, creatures that moved with super speed and were definitely not Zombies.
When night came, armed with guns and swords, Adnan and Patricia joined the fight. Eagerly they decapitated the two distinct species of Undead, the Zombies and the Vampires. The former required the destruction of the brain to stop moving, the latter merely required a swift beheading or the destruction of the heart. Master and apprentice made short work of their enemies, and then retreated to the catacombs as dawn came...
"I think I'm going to love being a Vampire," Patricia said to Adnan as they returned to their lair. Adnan nodded, and gave her hand a gentle squeeze. They'd killed many Vampires tonight, but none of them had been Malek Al-Baghdadi. The Vampire master was still out there, plotting to destroy mankind by using the Zombies. Adnan knew he wouldn't rest until he achieved his goal. He looked forward to ending the monster's reign.
"Ours is a wonderful existence, we must protect the humans, like a shepherd and his flock, the two of us, we are the enlightened branch of the Vampire species," Adnan said, smiling. Without realizing it, he'd gone into lecture mode. Patricia nodded, admiring her new Vampire lover while wondering if he ever shut up. Vampire guys seem to be even more chatty than human ones, Patricia quietly lamented.
When she realized that Adnan was going to keep on talking, Patricia grabbed him and kissed him. Talk is cheap and there are much better ways to kill the daytime hours, Patricia thought as she straddled Adnan, who got the frigging hint and resumed making love to her. Tonight, they would go out and risk their eternal lives against two kinds of Undead, the Vampires and the Zombies. These might very well be their last moments on earth. They definitely wouldn't waste them.
