Second Chances Ch. 01

I left a note on the kitchen table for him. "Dear Jerry, Sorry it didn't work out. I've been exclusive, and I'm sorry that you weren't. I hope you and Diana have a good life together. I've taken a new position on the west coast and have removed all the things that are mine that I want. It's better this way. Goodbye, Sandra."

A couple of days after I got settled in to Portland, I got a call from Dave. "Sandy, it went... well, let me just tell you what happened. On Saturday, Jerry and Diana walked into the bedroom. She had already removed her blouse and was trying to entice Jerry to go to bed with her. The TV set suddenly turned on and they saw themselves in a live feed on the TV. There was soft romantic music playing in the background. Great touch on my part? Both were shocked and still.

"Then your pre-recorded voice came on. "I do leave you two without much anger and resentment. I'm sorry Jerry that you couldn't be trusted. I'm sure that you'll understand how that feels. I think that you want to stay till the end of these clips."

"Diana was looking very worried and tried to turn off the TV, but the remote didn't work. My low tech wonder, I put in simple piece of paper to cover the battery contact.

"The first clip showed them going at it, the next she's dissing Sandy, telling him she is all his and she can't wait until your relationship was over.

"Then he sees Diana and her boss Dan on several different days, all date and time stamped. Then it's her going at it with Jason.

"I heard another gasp from her when then a picture of Jason's wife Loretta popped up. I followed it up with a picture of Dan and his wife June and their two children under the age of 9. Jerry was frozen. Diana was frantic.

"Then your recorded voice came on again, "Yes, both of their wives have seen these scenes with Diana. In fact, both have been given live and used the feeds for this for the past weeks while I was in California.

"I've left you these videos. I do hope that you and Diana can patch things up. Oh yes, you'll need to get tested. Both of the wives have been. You are aware that there may be no symptoms right away?

"So now Jerry, do you understand about trust now?

"Take care and Good bye, Sandy"
