Silver Moon: A Change Ch. 07

"You are more loved than you know Dan. That alone proves it." She settled on the bed next to him and sighed. "I enjoyed last evening, though I have to say it was the first time I have had someone take control like you did. It made me shiver as well as aroused me." She kissed him after saying that.

Dan growled again and then decided to ignore her comment. "I am going to definitely consider a good spanking though Geoff would probably object." He growled and rolled over so he was over her and grinned. "Maybe later I will let you take control." Just for good measure he leaned down and nipped at her lips and neck. "I have a feeling when you leave my bed is going to be cold and lonely." He rolled off her and out of bed and headed towards the shower.

She squeaked as he rolled on top of her and then laughed as he attacked her lips and neck. "Yes Dan, and if you spank me I might like it." She followed him into the bathroom and walked into the shower with him and curled her arms around him. "You feel better don't you? Not just spiritually but sexually as well right? That is part of my power. It is to heal both. You were a wonderful lover and Goddess help your next mate. You might just drive her to extinction or distraction with how good you are."

Dan growled and gently pushed her away. "Darn woman... Didn't ask if I was interested." Damn it but she was hot and he had been more than interested. When he had taken her it had been as enjoyable as his time with Mari, which felt wrong. He still loved his former spouse, but he had to admit that he felt better. "I have work to do woman, so don't even try to tempt me." He growled at her before planting a teasing kiss on her lips. "I would however be both honored and pleased if you would like to spend time in my bed."

When he walked into the dining room with her he got a number of odd looks from his pack as well as a few frowns from one or two of the women. Geoff and Mari simply smiled at him and then Mari winked and he growled. "Damn uppity subs."

Aiden snickered and mock whispered to Angie, "Well he seems in a good mood this morning... Wonder what got in his pants..."

The entire room went silent and Sheliae snickered. "Maybe a bit of fox got him... But I ain't a gonna tell." She smirked and then outright laughed when Dan covered his face with one hand.

"I think I am going to go and shoot myself now." That was another growl though he continued to his chair and almost grinned when Saul offered her his chair. "Now can we get some food on the table please? My inner wolf is not happy right now. If it doesn't get food shortly I am going to have to toss someone around the gym."

Another wolf snickered at that. "Um, boss, I hate to remind you but you do that already." Matt couldn't help but grin when he said that and snickered harder when Charles punched his shoulder.

"Don't egg him on you nit wit. All you are doing is encouraging him and I am still recovering from my bruises yesterday." He mock growled at the other wolf before turning to the tray that was placed on the table.

"Oh, while I am thinking about it, Geoff is going to be shadowing me at his mother's request so expect to see him in the meetings, practices, and everything else I do." Dan told the room and everyone looked at him then Geoff and back at him and nodded. "Mari I am going to work your mate into the ground just so you know. He might not be much use to you at night and yes I know the two of you shared your bed in the pup's room and am not upset."

The pack nodded and went back to eating as Dan looked at Geoff. "That is in almost everything; don't really expect you to share my bed since you have someone else for yours."

Geoff blushed as well as did Mari and Dan snickered before going back to his food. The morning went by quickly till after lunch and Dan ended up in the training room again. "Today we are working with knives. Someone toss me a Gladius."

It was silly but he loved the Gladius. That was one of the best things the Roman's had given the world. Essentially it was a short sword but was somewhat broader and had a very sharp point. The romans would set their shield wall and stab the sword between the shields and move forward. For any lycan the darn thing weighted about nothing and they could move it faster than any human with a regular knife.

Paulo was closest and didn't even think twice before grabbing one of the training blades and tossing it at his Alpha with confidence that he could catch it. Dan had been training them with knives and swords since shortly after he had arrived. Paulo loved the silly things even if they were sort of antiquated.

"Paulo you are going to be my first subject for today..." He grinned and almost laughed at the young man. "Go and get the knife or sword that fits you and we will start." Dan was doing small spins of the sword and grinned.

"Sir! And I am going to do my best to kick your butt." Paulo gravitated towards a broad sword and moved into the ring and bowed to his alpha before taking position in front of him.

Dan grinned. "Go for it pup, make my day, kick my butt..." He wasn't going to beat the boy into the ground and was going to do his best to teach him how to use the sword and or knife. The next fifteen minutes were educational for both of them.

Paulo was actually pretty good with the sword and Dan couldn't help but smile. "Son I am going to teach you everything I know. When you are trained you are going to be a killer Beta. I am glad you are in my pack." Dan stood up and looked at the others. "Okay, get whatever sword or knife that you think fits and I am going to work with you."

Paulo damn near broke down in tears when Dan said that. Yes Dan had shown some affection to the older pups but much had been to the littles. Some of that he was sure was missing his cubs and the affection the little ones were showing him. Having Dan tell him that he was proud that he was in his pack was just so wonderful. "Yes sir and I will do my best to make you proud of me."

For the next hour and a half Dan walked through the pups and checked the weapons they had picked and made a few changes. For the youngest, he stayed with knives, but the older pups he had an appropriate sized sword. He had worked with them before with edged weapons but right now he was showing Geoff how he worked as well as teaching.

Eventually Dan was done with the pups and looked at Geoff and smiled. "You too kit, I am going to train the living heck out of you, and if you can keep up with me I will be more than impressed. Well, that and I am going to be more than willing to accept you as Mari's mate."

Geoff's face hardened for a moment and then relaxed before walking over to the training rack and pulled out a Katana and checked it and then walked over. "Ready, sir. Test me and I will prove that I am more than capable of taking care of your submissive, my mate." He glanced over at Mari and smiled. This was one weapon he was more than familiar with.

Dan kept the Gladius and rushed Geoff. Before he realized it they had traded some blows and Geoff's sword was at his throat and he froze. "Well crap son; you are good with that thing. I think you can protect my submissive." Next time he was going to use a longer sword. He had stayed with the Gladius to give Geoff an advantage and he hadn't needed it.

The rest of the students froze when Geoff and Dan attacked each other. Heck his detail froze as well and nobody could believe that Geoff had managed to subdue Dan. Mari started to move forward but one of Geoff's body guards stopped her. "It is only training milady." The man was smiling since he was pleased his charge had done very well.

Geoff had heard her start forward and what his guard had said and turned and looked at her. "It is only training but the katana is the sword of my choice. I would love to see you with the sword of your choice Lord Danilo."

Dan couldn't help but smile. "Well that might be a bit hard since my sword is in my other world." Actually both of his swords, the bastard sword he had picked up years ago and a dress Kriss that he had been given by the king of one of the countries he had served as a merc.

Shannon, one of the two older boys, slowly walked forward. "I think I know of a sword that you might like sir." He spoke with a slight stutter and seemed to be almost painfully shy; he wasn't a boy that Dan had seen much of other than in the armory.

"Well, if so, I would like to see it son. Please I really would like to see it." He moved forward and gave him a light hug. "Go get it."

The boy hurried out of the room, and it was only a few moments later when he came back. He had a sword that was longer than he was in his hands and handed it over. "This was my father's sir, and I know that he would want it in the hands of someone worthy of it." He hunched over as if he was expecting to get hit.

Dan took the sword and laid it and the scabbard it was in on the floor before pulling the young boy into his arms. "You have no idea how much that means to me. I can't help but be proud of you allowing me to carry your father's sword." That almost brought a tear to his eyes. The affection and trust the pups was giving him was almost in a way heartbreaking.

Geoff watched them and then looked at Mari. If he could one day be half the leader her Alpha was, he would be pleased. Over the clan bonds, Geoff could feel his staff almost doing an 'aww' over what Shannon said. He tried to think of any of his clan doing something like that for his parents and couldn't. They were loved and respected, but he had a feeling it was because the clan was so much larger. There just wasn't that personal relationship between his parents and the clan members that Dan had with his pack.

Mari moved over to him and wrapped her arms around him. "My love, you will be a wonderful leader in time." She nuzzled his neck before letting him go.

Dan was sort of ignoring them as they cuddled. He stood up and pulled the sword out of the scabbard. The blade was Damascus steal and the first foot of it from the quillon had brass on both sides. The cross piece was slightly swept back and had faint hints of feathers on it. The hilt was designed for two hands and had a heavy pommel. "God, what a beautiful sword." It was beautiful in its simplicity.

He flipped the sword around and took a few different poses and it felt right in his hands. "Whoever made this made a piece of art." The balance was perfect and it was like it was an extension of his body as he moved. Also as he moved a fluttering sound was heard as he snapped it through the air.

As he was playing with it Geoff couldn't help but enjoy the movements. "Your Alpha is bloody good Mari. I can't even imagine using a sword like that." Geoff had to wonder how Dan would do against the clan's weapons master. The old man had been the weapons master for well over a century and before that, an assistant for another century and a half.

She smiled at her mate. "Remember, we are lycans and he is stronger than all of us." Mari turned to him and pressed a kiss on his lips. "I might love my Alpha but you are my mate Geoff. Don't ever doubt that. You are mine and that is all there is to it." Her voice was rather aggressive and possessive.

His detail tried not to snicker and even looked away when Dan heard that and glowered at them. "Damn straight Mari and I will spank you if you ever look away from your mate." Dan started laughing and walked over to the two of them and pulled both into a hug. "My little wolf and her mate. Both of you are going to do well with each other."

The next two weeks went well and Dan had to admit that it had been damn nice to have a woman in his bed. Mari was a woman, but other than that one night he just hadn't desired her. She was his savior and salvation and sex simply hadn't been in the equation. Sheliae had teased him as much as he had teased her and with her and Geoff's entourage leaving he was going to have a cold bed. She had been warm and both of them had screwed their brains out over the last two weeks. "Damn it Sheliae I am going to miss you. Not only have you helped me, you have warmed my bed and you have been one hell of a partner." The pups were asleep as they were talking in the early morning.

She smiled and settled on his chest. "Dan I shouldn't say this, but you are going to find the woman for you. She isn't your former mate but when you find her. she is going to rock your world." Her lips were soft on his ear. "When you meet her you won't even think of me, as much as I hate to say that. Time for a shower my Alpha." She rolled off him and swished her way to the bathroom and into the shower.

He stilled for a moment and pulled her close before she walked to the bathroom. "I will always think of you Sheliae, always. You might not be my mate but you are one hell of a woman. I can only hope you find a mate worthy of you." His lips slid across her jaw and drew her in for one last kiss. "My bed is going to be cold."

She laughed. "Not if you accept a few of your pack's offers. I have greatly enjoyed the last two weeks and will want more of you but your pack is going to want to take care of you." She snickered. "Well the females will, since the guys know that you don't swing that way." Sheliae rolled out of the bed and swished off to the shower.

~~~ Several weeks later

Aiden was outside when an older truck pulled up and stopped between the circle and the manor. "Can I help you sir?" He definitely smelled like a lycan and so did the young female in the car as well. There was something else in her scent as well but he was more concerned with the man.

"If your Alpha is available I would like to talk to him." Maric was feeling beaten down and tired, but he was doing his best to be strong for his daughter. "I have heard that he has accepted a few strays and lone wolves." Even though he was trying to be strong, his tiredness could be seen in the slight slump of his shoulders.

Aiden gave the man a good look and nodded slightly before looking slightly off to one side. "He has accepted me into the pack and I found my mate as well. I can't say what he might say or do but he will listen. Is your daughter going to come with?" He could smell her scent on him and knew that they were related. *Dan I have a strong though tired wolf and his daughter here. He wants to talk to you.*

Dan had heard the vehicle approaching but knew that one of his wolves was outside. When Aiden contacted him via the bonds he almost frowned. *Bring him to my office and I will deal with him.* If Dan had been outside he would have stood up but in his office he was behind that silly massive desk and had all the authority he needed.

"In a few minutes but right now she is going to be okay in the car." He turned to Sylvia. "Lovie, I will be back shortly and you will be safe in the car." Maric leaned over and gave her a peck and climbed out and closed the door. "If you can, please don't let anyone next to the car."

When he climbed out, Sylvia seemed to shrink away from the male that was on her side and shivered. When her father told her he would be back shortly, she shivered some more but nodded though she didn't say anything.

Aiden eye's darkened but still nodded. "I can see to that and make sure that a female is keeping an eye on her sir. Follow me and I will show you to my Alpha's office." *Angie, come and keep an eye on the poor child in this car till Dan has dealt with her father.* That got a startled reaction from his mate. "My mate will keep an eye on her for you sir."

"Thank you for that son. I appreciate it." His voice was as tired sounding as he looked. Maric did wonder how he knew his mate would watch her since the other wolf hadn't called for anyone yet. As they were walking in, a woman was walking out and traded looks with the other male.

Aiden led him into the house and to Dan's office. He knocked and then opened the door. "Sir, I have a strange wolf to talk to you. His daughter is waiting in his car. Angie is watching her for him."

Dan looked up at the man and stood. "Please come in and how can I help you?" He had a feeling what was coming and based on the dominance hoped it would be good for the pack. He held his hand out and gave the other man's hand a good shake.

Maric settled down in a chair and sighed. "I hope you can help me sir. I have heard good things about your pack and how you are taking in stray wolves. I would like you to help my daughter and hopefully accept me. She was hurt by my previous alpha and is broken." He lowered his head and took several slow breaths to keep from crying. "Help her if you can sir, I don't care about me but help my daughter." This wasn't going the way he wanted but all he wanted was his daughter healed.

Dan stood up and walked around the desk and squatted down in front of the man and pulled him into a rough hug. "I am sorry for what you have been through and will consider letting you into my pack. I think I know someone who might be able to help." *Angie get the girl from the car and bring her and Paulo to my office.* "I am going to have one of my females bring her to my office, and then we will talk further." One thing Dan could say was that he was totally confident in his rank and comforting someone that came across as powerful didn't bother him.

The man stiffened up when Dan hugged him since he had never experienced that before. He froze until Dan said a female was going to bring his daughter in. "Thank you Alpha. Please be gentle with her." He managed to hold back the tears, but he did lean into the Alpha. Dan felt so different from his former Alpha and he couldn't resist. Maric noticed that his wolf was giving the other a good look, an appraising look and it liked what he could see and feel.

Angie called for Paulo as she was helping the girl out of the truck and walking inside. "Hey sweetie, your father and my Alpha want to see you. Will you come with me?" The girl looked about 17 or so but had broken looking eyes. Angie had a feeling why, but didn't let that stop her. "I am going to take you to your da hun. Come with me."

Before his daughter was shown into the room, Maric sat up and was glad when Dan let go and moved back to his chair behind the massive desk. Until she came in, he ended up staring at the desk and wondering what blithering idiot had the thing made. It was well made but horribly ostentatious and full of self-importance. He just couldn't see the Alpha having it made for him since it just didn't seem to match what little he knew and felt of him.

Angie helped the girl out of the truck and glowered at the men who were outside and they vanished into the woods. She slowly led the girl to Dan's office and settled on an overstuffed loveseat and pulled her down next to her. She wrapped her arm around the girl, enclosing her in a circle of protection. "I will take care of you sweetie. Your father is here and my Alpha as well. He is not like other alphas you may have known, though I know it will take some time for you to learn that." Her voice was soft as she spoke soothingly to Sylvia.

Both Dan and Maric looked over as Angie pulled the girl into her arms. Dan began to explain. "Angie is the house mother. She is a good woman though not a submissive, though your world doesn't seem to understand what that means. Your daughter's wolf understands and can help her deal with it. I have called for one of my pups as well."

Right then Paulo knocked. "Sir, you called for me?" Why Dan had called for him he wasn't sure but to be called to the Alpha's office was either very good or very bad.

Maric was about ready to introduce his daughter when the cub knocked and walked in. His first impression of Paulo was he had a sort of worldly eyes yet they were gentle. Before Dan could speak, he reached over and grasped one of his daughter's hands. "This is my daughter Sylvia." He looked at Dan with very distressed eyes and then looked at the boy.
