Epilogue

She ran to the door to see the dragon bite down on Shi-Dragon and then it howled in pain before releasing the mount minus the rider. They flew overhead and she saw the hole in the bottom of the jaw as the blade fell from the sky and landed in the sheath.

Then a large sucking sound occurred in the center of the great worm. This was followed by two rapid explosions over the island. She received one final message from Shi'Drakon through her mount. "He hoped his solution would work."

Gia screamed her head off as she was knocked back by the force of the first blast wave. She looked at Angel, "Sheath and bow! The sword fell into the sheath!!! Get them but do not touch the blade itself!"

Angel had just grabbed them and then got blown back into the shelter from the second blast wave. The force of the explosion blew down trees snapped ship masts, flipped some while capsizing others. When all was said and done less than 10 dragons were seen in retreat.

Kan Tri, the Champion, and the dragon champion were dead. The only part of the champion's body found was his left arm still gripping the handle of the shield. The spikes of which stuck out of the severed head of the dragon. The Knights and Shadow Riders quickly recovered.

They had 24 vessels on the water the next day where they found other parts of the dragon. Twisted inward and blown apart. They destroyed the arm in a wizard's funeral two days later. The remains sealed in a box.

A Silvertree was planted not far from Silent Falls, in accordance with the note accompanying his will. That night as the ladies mourned together. Over 173 still died among Travious's own troops, in the air, or aboard the ships that got destroyed. Kan Tri was killed instantly as his soul was linked to that of the dragon. Travious's action was a selfless act. The Blade Singer and blade holder responsible for the next great battle before the return is being informed this evening. Seven of thirteen will go.
