Queen Goldeagle was back at the falls, this time it was not the Lady of Dreams who came to see her. It was Corellon Larethian. She took a knee and he sighed, "Stand. When you wake, I want you to ensure the word paranoid is not in any paperwork for Charlus or the enchanters. Call him in and give him his papers today.

Listen to him. He is frustrated in trying to help the people, staying undetected, the issues with his sister Ginnar, the humans lack of responsiveness in fixing their infiltration, same with the dwarves, and then you embarrassing him in open court when he had no need to be up on that line today.

I understand your frustration. But spend a few hours looking over the journals of your ancestors and you will find out a lot of what is going on has been done before. You should read the journals from Eldar's time. The Queen left a message concerning champions.

You find the reference and you will realize. We not only put these assets out there and make you aware of them. We also work to test the elven Kings and Queens of those eras. You have had mixed results with champions during your reign.

Especially when they are not even adults yet. This is a problem you will not likely see again, but only if you aid Charlus in staying off that line more often. He is not married yet. His frustrations are hard to burn off at this stage as he does not have someone to help set his mind right.

You can help with that in the short term. I do not do this with rulers very often, the challenges with Ginnar my wife is working through. That leaves me to deal with this issue directly."

The Queen woke up without having the chance to answer him. She sighed, "Fuck. He is pissed at me." She contacted her scribes and had them reworking the wording to remove any reference to paranoid or paranoia out of the documents. She realized she shoved her frustrations out on him in open court.

It was not the right thing to do. She grabbed those journals and searched the marked sections for champions from Queen Goldeagle in Eldar's time. She read through and found the reference to 'royalty would be tested every time a champion is on the field. Fail to listen to them at your own peril.'

She sighed, "I should spend more time trying to understand the minds of a champion and less time badgering them in open court. He gave me an out to not have him on that line and I failed to listen to him. Damn it."

She got dressed to go and start her day and send off the request as soon as the scribes had the paperwork done and she had a chance to review them to ensure they were perfect.

---

Corellon was in his home with his wife for a change. He looked at her, "You still have issues with female champions, this one was your own...again. You pushed the issue onto Charlus, you like to push him on wives and his love life, yet you failed to advise your own champion properly.

Vandria Gilmadrith Is seeing grief and heartache coming with your champion. You fail to address her and it could damage your relationship with Charlus even further. Keep that in mind."

He did not wait for a response. He merely left as The Lady of Dreams did not want to hear about her failing yet again with a champion. Another female champion of hers this time. When she tried to bring her Paladins to a point to prove themselves.

They showed skill on the field but it was muted because of the efforts of Charlus. That both delighted her and frustrated her in regards to Ginnar. The Lady of Dreams knew the woman would never agree to marry.

Yet she did nothing to warn her Paladin off of the woman. Ginnar was to never get married in the future she had planned for her Paladin, now she had had oral sex and had to find a way to deal with it.

---

Charlus awoke just as frustrated. He went through his mind and set his spells without moving. He slid out and went to the pool leaving her in the room still asleep. He went to the pool and swam. Still on the highest setting, only in his pants, but he did not try to reach the wall but held his position in the water in the middle of the deep end.

He tried to burn off his anger and frustration. He finally stopped when Trilia jumped into the water in front of him. He had to swim to slow her return to the other side. He slowed it by kicking and held her to him with his hands on her naked ass, "You are naked."

She smiled, "I know. I figured it might get your attention when the yelling didn't."

He kissed her and moved at a slow rate to the shallows. They got to the back wall as his mother walked in. Gia looked down at him, "At least you kept your pants on. The Queen contacted the house crystal. She wants to see you and your siblings from yesterday."

He sighed, "Let me dry off and get some clean clothes." He stood and helped his bride to get out of the water. She ran over to the side to get dressed while he went to his room and got dressed. She got there as he put his weapons belt on. She smiled, "What was all that about?"

Charlus looked at Trilia, "Remember what was told to you about a champion's frustration. Anger can rise and my frustration with what they want me to do. To not rip into someone or yell at an idiot that will not listen, like a Storm Giant. My sister who is supposed to be my cover in all of this leaving me exposed. Which is why I have 2 heightened and 2 quickened paralyze creature spells prepared."

She sighed, "You think it will go that bad?"

He looked at her, "Paranoid...remember." She sighed and hugged him.

He continued, "Champions look at the world differently. Others have put together conspiracies, plans of attack, off the wall things that are unlikely and almost always happen. We listen to our instincts. I am not the first to have an enchantment project done in complete secrecy.

Jazzia did it as well to create the dragon sphere that stopped the world from ending. She paid for it, hours after the Dragon Lands returned with her own life. She knew the attack would stop if the Draco-lich was taken off the field. The Knight Paladin had a drow hand crossbow with a bag of holding at the end of it. He put a portable hole wrapped around the bolt.

He fired it into the bag of holding to end a 5,000year-old shadow dragon champion. This was while the Dragon Lands were gone. He planned for the worst because the worst happened. It always does."

She sighed, "Alright. I can feel the rage coming off of you. I get what you are saying. Why would Queen Goldeagle want to see you?"

He looked at her, "If my conversation with the Gods last night is any indication. She is going to apologize for her choice of words from yesterday."

He walked out and saddled up his horse. "You really need an Elven Warhorse."

She smiled, "I have a fear of heights."

Charlus chuckled, "Then it is a must. Besides they travel on the ground as well."

She nodded, "Facing my fears is it."

He nodded. He stopped at the door and went into the library and then the armory. He pulled the heavy paladin's shield off the wall. He walked back carrying the thing with him.

She looked at him, "What are you doing?"

He looked at her, "Give a history lesson. It is needed."

They walked out and he stored the shield in a bag of holding. He looked at the guard, "We need to go."

He nodded. They teleported to the gate to the palace district and walked through and teleported to the palace. She talked with someone but he was the only one in line. They came in behind and waited for him to leave. They stepped forward. "Your Majesty, If I might show you something."

He reached into the bag and pulled out the shield and held it sideways. "Your Majesty, this is the shield of the Knight Paladin Champion. The first one. He had it crafted in secret for a single purpose. Activate." The spikes shot out of the top and bottom of the shield.

That shocked a few in attendance. "That purpose was to get inside the neck of a dragon and activate those spiked to keep from getting swallowed. The Lighthouse was the idea of our champion. Expressed to us about the concern of an attack from multiple directions.

Being the blade holder, I knew that to ignore the concern of a champion would be foolish and my siblings agreed. History has born this out. As you know part of my work with the Diplomatic Service has been working on better communication crystals.

I developed one that added as a directional relay to allow communication crystals to work through a portal. It is connected to eight crystals and a master crystal. The eight are targeted line of sight communication. The only way to get crystal communications to cross the barrier into a secure shelter. It sits on top of the controls which are manned but also voice-activated due to the work of my siblings.

Things we did not need for our current shields but for an experimental system, we had it manned as well. Just in case it failed to function through the barrier as we hoped. We did not know when the beam was activated if it would interfere or not.

The Dragon Champion analyzed attack patterns and did his scouting and as many may not know, he was born of Jazzia Silvertree. He is technically a distant great uncle. He expressed his ideas to the enchanters in our family and they helped him.

I helped him with the communication aspect but the relay was destroyed on one of them. I bring this up about Jazzia because champions have a history of bringing in enchanters to work these problems not wanting to get the hopes or concerns of the Ruler of the era in case it did not work.

In her case the Dragon Sphere. Which saved the world from destruction and contained the dragon fight. You were under the impression it fed into my paranoia when in fact it came from following the concerns expressed by the champions of this fight. It is not paranoia when it proves to be true. Respectfully. Deactivate. Your Majesty."

The shield retracted and Charlus put it away. Queen Goldeagle nodded, "You are correct. When we fail to listen to the concerns of our champions, we find ourselves in trouble. I was angry about being kept in the dark about these experimental solutions.

Finding out they were available when the situation arose. I spent part of my night reflecting on the journals of my ancestors when dealing with champions. They had the issues you described on more than one occasion.

I wanted to apologize to the three of you for taking my frustration with the champion's concerns out on you. Thank you for ensuring that solutions were in place for those highly unlikely situations. Which proved to be very likely and where needed.

Something champions also do is find those situations. I also had a message from Queen Rosenthrawl for all who worked on the one inside her borders. Initially, she was upset that it occurred without her knowledge.

The dragon champion, who is a distant relative of yours, confirmed for her the seriousness of the threat flying above her keep that her army could not have dealt with if it had not been there. She sends her thanks to our enchanters and champions who staved off a disaster.

To those that did not know, Jazzia had a half-dragon mate and her father took down that dragon champion. That attracted the attention of Bahamut. He tried to steal our champion. She bore 12 in one month.

6 were born as dragons and the other 6 elven with strong dragon blood. An agreement she got the dragons to come to terms with after a spirit of cooperation between the Gods was forged. Like our alliance with the Metallics. Now neutrals who have returned under a non-aggression deal they had before.

Thank you 3 for coming in. Thank you Charlus for the reminder of our history. With the role our enchanters have played, in the recent and distant past for many champions." She walked up. "Your papers." She gave them to each of them.

She looked at Charlus, "No mention of the word paranoia in them anywhere."

She got back to her throne, "Thank you again, you can go now."

---

Queen Goldeagle better understood what he was trying to tell her. The answers were in the books she had if only she had read them more instead of looking for specific pieces of information on occasion and fixating on just the Knight Paladin.

She had many wet dreams and masturbation sessions thinking about that champion when she was younger, she had wished she had been one of his wives, then Eldar with 6 of them that she read last night and she had not climaxed that hard in a long time.

As she did while reading her ancestor's journal and his prowess in bed, including that of the Queens bed. She added it into her journal and encrypted it for 'Female Queen's only' to read. There was a section for Kings as well but each carried a unique blood-ward on those sections to ensure her desires in that matter were kept in place.

Queen Goldeagle was married, and her husband was a barely adequate lover, but she had several children with him over the years. She did not go all the way back to Eldar or long before him. She now saw how short-sighted she had been as she chose specific champions to research.

Like the Knight Paladin that her father read to her as a child. She now found herself wondering what the prowess of Charlus would be like. When he became an adult next week. She sighed as she was extremely horny now just thinking about all of that, but had to get back to work with the court.

---

They bowed to her and left the court. Charlus teleported them twice to get home. Charlus walked into the home and returned the shield. He found a ring of feather fall and grabbed a saddle and bridle and went out. He rode them both to the edge of the city and used a teleportation circle to take them to the edge of Quatarsia.

He looked at his horse, "You have done well by me over the last five years. I need a stealthy replacement and she needs one that can be a good mate to him. Plus be patient with an unskilled flyer."

He heard a chuckle, "They are on their way. Your secrets are safe with me."

Charlus undid the saddle and bridle. He ran off as the other two came in. He looked at his new shadow steed. Charlus looked at him, "Shi'Onnar."

Charlus heard a chuckle, "Shadow unseen."

Charlus thought back, "I thought about shadow unheard but that might have come off wrong as I want to hear from you."

He heard him laugh as Charlus saddled him up. He held his hand out to Trillia, "Ring of feather fall."

Trillia smiled, "Thank you."

They mounted up. He pulled the crystal to his sister, "Good morning Ginnar."

He heard her sigh, "Not really. She cannot decide if she should marry me or not. She does not want to end the relationship. I explained that if she has not given me an answer before I go to sleep, I will assume we have broken it off."

Charlus smiled, "She nearby?"

He heard her sigh, "Right next to me."

He smiled, "She has not told you of the fact that all Silvertree champions are well versed in sex. They have a stamina and sex drive that can go all night long. The first one was Eldar. He had 6 wives, at a time, twice.

The last female champion drove the fuck out of a half-dragon and two other wives. She could wear all 3 of them down. Every night! No need to respond, it is documented in the blade wielders journal. Something she could show you if you agreed to marry her. I will leave the 2 of you to return to your morning tryst as I work diplomacy with Storm Giants."

He turned the crystal off. He saw it crack and sighed, "My sister just destroyed her crystal. Good thing I have one to her second in command as well. Best speed."

---

Prima Silver Harp took the crystal and threw it against the keep wall, "Where does he get off on telling you or me what we should do?"

Ginnar looked at her, "He was not saying what we should do. He was telling you what could be if you allowed it. You still have a choice."

Prima looked at her, "You still have a choice to not be a paladin too. I don't want to get married and I don't want to end this. I have seen marriage; my parents hated each other's guts and they went off screwing around with others on their own. Hell, I am not sure my father is my father!

I don't want that life and I don't want it with a gaggle of other women. I just wanted you. You are telling me the only way forward is marriage and there is no fucking way I will get married."

She stormed out of the room of the Keep and went to the front line. Ginnar sat there and screamed her head off and cried. She got on her horse and rode off toward Porcoza. At breakneck speed while flying low over the tree lines to avoid others.

---

Trilia and Charlus took off riding into the town like their horses were on fire. They slowed down and two of the local militia came riding over, "That is too fast in town."

Charlus looked at them, "You have a law or ordinance covering that?"

He looked at Charlus, "Don't get cute with me kid."

Charlus looked at him, "I will be an adult in 6 days, have been knighted by the Queen, and am on a mission for her. I work in her Diplomatic Service."

He looked at Charlus, "What would a kid get knighted for?"

He pointed up, "Who do you think helped to build it. I deal with communications and Diplomacy. I designed the communication crystals for it." He laughed at Charlus.

Charlus looked up and pulled out a crystal, "Shelter four and eight shields off."

The men in four and eight can exit out dimension door to the platform or feather fall. He watched a few who did each. "Shelter four activate shields. Security activated, and walls activated. Shelter eight, shields. Security activated, and walls activated."

He watched them come back on as he put the crystal away. "Any other questions speak with your Duke. Tell him Sir Silvertree, his cousin, said hello. He will know me as the one who took on 3 locals. I taught them a lesson in fighting over 20 years ago; 3 of them taking on me. He arrived at the display and just watched me go while I was still in training."

They rode off and left the 2 of them sitting there. He pulled out another crystal, "Queen Majisa, how are you this morning?"

She sighed, "Doing alright. They are holding steady. You, going to try and talk with them?"

Charlus smiled, "Yes, do you know if paralyze creature works on them?"

She sighed, "No it does not, why?"

He sighed, "In case something went wrong. I will have to swap those spells out. How many giants can we expect?"

She sighed, "Maybe a few hundred on each of them. Probably a lot less given the number of dragons and half-dragons."

They rode for another hour in silence as he switched out spells. He finally looked at her, "Spells switched out."

She looked at Charlus, "You did that without a book?"

Charlus smiled, "Books are memorized."

She nodded and chuckled, "Forgot that about you."

She shook her head. He stopped and pulled her closer and kissed her. "We will be coming in at 10,000 feet. I will show you where to land."

She nodded and he teleported them up. They rode along the sky and climbed some. He cast a wall of force up and then made it permanent. He circled around and landed and she landed beside him where he pointed.

He smiled, "You are on a wall of force I made it permanent. Wait here." He rode around the top of the beam and came back down. "Nobody outside. Send a psionic message that we want to speak with the storm giants."

She nodded. She tried for an hour and one came out.

Charlus looked at him, "You are in charge?"

He nodded. Charlus cast a detect magic spell for show. "I would like to speak to one who is not wearing a necromancy ring."

He left and two hours later and still nobody. She tried again for an hour. Charlus pulled out a crystal, "Shelter six, shield off."

A second later "Shield on." Charlus repeated that 10 times. With the shield smashing into the floating mountain each time. He left them on. They moved the mountain out of the line of fire.
