Elves look as far out as 1-2 centuries when we are not fighting for our lives daily. What was occurring when my grandfather took the field as a champion. Dragons look a thousand years out or longer.

Some of what they look at would make little sense to the elven people but in their eyes...well, let's just say I could see the reasons. They needed it and it was not something the elves would normally look at or act upon.

You will notice I have openly displayed from my sword those eyes. They view the world differently. What they see could be used for good or ill. The upgrades I did to their system locked the chromatics out of this system. It allowed them to identify attempts to access the antiquated part of the system that they disconnected.

They sent in strike teams and destroyed their capability and researchers who accessed that system. They could not find them until the upgrades to the Dragon system were completed. The system they did not want me to build, I built for them to oversee.

There will be things you hear that I have done or am working on. Then there are things you will never know about until they are used; if ever. My trainers named me Enigma for a reason and this was before I became the champion.

That occurred the day I claimed the blade. Future champions may or may not have the blade depending upon the whims of the Gods in what they want that champion to accomplish. Once I pass there may not be a need for a champion for a long time. I am not a god so I cannot say.

I will say all Moon Blade wielders have the chance to be champions and all of them are heroes of the elven people. I will also say a piece of equipment does not make a hero or a champion. It is the heart and will to help our people that define heroes. Those worthy of being on the elven court. Regardless of birth circumstance or species of the elf or elf-blooded in question."

This was met with a round of applause that for once Charlus was happy to hear. This went on for a few minutes before the Queen brought things back to order. She looked at Charlus, "The champion is in the light now."

Charlus nodded, "Yes your Majesty, but you need light to be able to slip into the shadows. I can work in both environments."

She laughed at him and nodded, "You have done that. Coming so close to the light we had to find plausible cover stories to keep you hidden. If not for that accursed weapon you would still be working from the shadows. Without most in this court knowing what you did or how you did it. Let alone that you are a champion."

Charlus smiled, "Your Majesty, we have only just begun. How I do things and sometimes why I do them will remain an enigma."
