'Oh I'm sure I'll find something appropriate - anyway I wouldn't want to wear them for anyone else.'
'Thank you Holly.' Kris answered softly, then took her in his arms and kissed her for the last time.
A few minutes later, with the kangaroos made ready for their flight, he stepped up into the truck, waved and said. 'I'll keep my eyes out for you next Christmas Holly - I doubt you will be spending it alone, but if you are - well you never know!'
Moving across to the air-conditioner housing Holly picked up her watch, its hands were still frozen - but as she bent down and reached inside; she blew Kris a kiss, flicked the time-trap's switch off, watched the violet glow blur, then vanish - and saw the second hand flick one tick forward.

Also, funny to find the 'rape, pillage, and burn' comment that inspired your other story as well, although that other story was pretty disturbing. This one was light-hearted, sweet, and as 'innocent' as a story on here could possibly be! Bravo.
WhiteWave48over 17 years agoA top story with all the Aussie stuff in it - the mattress, the cooler, the beer, the shorts and boots - even the astonishing desert stars. The sci-fi element was intriguingly prepared and then we were treated to a beautiful, Sandy Blight-style mixed-race, self-educated ingenue getting her first fill. Great stuff.
