I left Mitch standing alone and forlorn in the middle of our living room. My heart ached to see him in such a state; he didn't deserve it.

On the drive to Skyler's, I felt terribly saddened that I had hurt someone I cared about. But with each passing mile it was replaced by an exhilaration that saturated my entire being.

What would she be wearing? I indulged in a little fantasy as a means to forget about Mitch. Hmm...a brief sleeveless tee-shirt exposing several inches of her flat, muscled tummy, workout shorts, displaying her lean ultra toned legs and luxuriant brown hair twisted into a French braid. Christ, the girl even has sexy feet, I thought with a smile.

When Skyler opened the door, I fell into her arms. Her sparkling green eyes gazed at me adoringly and a broad smile graced her beautiful face. My rapidly beating heart sang the song of love. And, as she kissed me with insatiable ardor, I thought: I'm home, I'm truly home.

I have to admit to some ambivalence here. Or maybe just confusion. So, I'm just gonna ramble...

I don't really see the "power" of Meaghan in the story. Her only real power was dying. And not even that was necessary. Yes, she helped Dana and Sky, but did she *really* help that much? I didn't feel it. She could have just gotten married, since that's where the plot was headed. Why kill her? The heart-string there wasn't strong enough.

I think Dana was a weak character (I mean the character herself, not the portrayal of the character). She started out weak, and ended up weak. She didn't really change all that much. She physically grew up, but I'm not sure she did emotionally.

To be honest, given the name of the story, I expected Skylar to be the real "key" to the story. But she wasn't. She was mostly "just there" for Dana to be interested in (first negatively, then positively). Skylar didn't really *do* anything more than just wait for Dana. But we never got glimpse of *why* Sky was willing (or how she was able) to just wait for Dana to decide what to do.

And lastly, I think the thing that was intended to be the strongest concept, the Three Musketeers, was only told to us; we never really got to see them in action, what made them, what the bond was between them, or how strong it really was.

Despite my seeming misgivings above, I did really enjoy the skeleton of the story and the ending helped greatly to leave us with a happy feeling.

Though, we all ask: how did things work out? How did Mitch fare? Did Dana and Sky make it? As Mom wanted, were there to me children? Happy with that ending does not translate, for us, into happily ever after.

A truly moving story, with all the happenings so intense ...... Yeah meghans car crash is in the end some allways happen in real life and we like never to attend a funeral or getting compromised loosing a beloved soul, but life isn't kind ...... So we experience some wonderful moments but most is struggling for fulfilling our needs to the best as well for our beloved ones ....... In that case it was a kind of true life telltale and wonderfully written

I am so confused because the protagonist said she felt guilty for cheating on Mitch with Skyler but she was sleeping with other people since the beginning of their relationship. It was like all of a sudden it was wrong but before it wasn't. Had a serious what the hell moment. Sorry cheating bugs the hell out of me so her behaviour just made me kinda dislike Dana. No offense to the writer just my own opinion. It was well written though.

Meghan

We all need a friend like Meghan in our life. A friend who hug us or kick our ass when needed. Her death made me so sad, I cried like a baby. Even more when I read it the second time.

Thanks for sharing

ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHING ............

Far from the often used man hater or poor woman married to an uncaring or abusive husband, you actually took the time to create a heart wrenching "torn between two lovers" story.

Even more impressive is that you constructed the story in a way which worked!!

Fantastic work.
