"You have my vow, mi'lord." Maslo said vehemently. "I'll make her beg the Baroness herself to have me finally kill her before I slit her neck." The malevolent grin that crossed the ugly man's face gave Cornelius a shutter of revulsion.
"Then I will see you afterwards with a reward." Cornelius said in a honeyed tone. He smiled at the look of delight that crossed Maslo's face and turned to leave the horribly foul place and prepare his House Guard to take the foul gladiator into custody as soon as he returned to the preparation area. He almost wished he'd be able to see the ugly man's face when he was told that his reward was to meet the House executioner. On second thought, he'd be happy to never have to look on his hideous face again.

ZZchromosomeabout 1 year agoThis 100% belongs in the Scifi/Fantasy genre. "Novels/Novellas" is an uninformative name that means nothing. But "Scifi/Fantasy" means something to potential readers, so it belongs here where we can find it.
Yes, this is a brutal fantasy world, but the brutality isn't for fun, it adds dramatic tension to the story, so we know the challenges that the heroine is facing. Keep up the good work, your writing is remarkably good. It's not erotica, it's storytelling that doesn't shy away from the darker aspects of life.

I had originally intended to put this in the 'Novels and Novellas' section, but it was suggested by a friend that I put my work in more specific category to better reach the audience it was intended. While I am sorry you found the material so objectionable, the story is meant to have the same sort of mature slant as books such as Game of Thrones and isn't meant to be taken as any sort of 'erotica'.
If it is of any consequence, I have tried to greatly soften the instances where this comes up, try to illustrate that Lita is not being so much forcefully taken as just put in a position where she has to do distasteful things. I know that it is, ultimately, semantics, but these are still things that Lita is consenting to do, just not really happy about. I also don't plan for there to be much of this going forward, as the story will take a much more action-based tone from here on.
Again, my apologies for your bad experience.

I fret a lot over how I phrase things and the way I write, worried that this sentence seems too long or that I've used that word too many times on one page or even that I'm trying too hard to use different words for something that I need to repeat.
I hope you start to find the subject matter up to the same grade as my writing as time goes on.

It doesn't matter that the background is a fantasy world when the story is about humiliation and rape.
Put this in nonconsensual, where people who don't like that shit don't come across it with zero warning what it is.
