Over the next few months Melanie tried to contact me numerous times to explain or apologize, I'm not sure which as I refused to speak with her. However, whatever her reasons were I was no longer interested to hear them. She pleaded through her lawyer that she was ready to resume being my faithful wife again if I gave her a second chance but it made no impression on me anymore. You see, the something lost was my marriage but the something gained, or more precisely, regained was my self respect.
Oh, as for Steve, he did not get off scot free either as I made sure his wife found about his affair also. Last I heard he was getting a divorce too. The weird thing is that even though we are divorced Mel still calls me up crying and begging for me to give her a second chance. My heart goes out to her but you know I just deserved better than the way she treated me.

The problems I see are in the build up you write that this is a second marriage for him. If so, no way he falls for this crap.

No one cares ? Really . Apparently you do. Btw I'm back from Xmas vacay, working a double shift, its pretty dead and but powers that be get pissed when I pull out a book,ipad. Surfing on phone puter though doesn't flip their wig . Get a life ? I got three guitars and use 2 of them fairly often. Plan to get piano , took 3 years of lessons and stupidly gave it up.

Yet I'm always just a bit astounded when a comment vociferously lauds or deplores the actions of a fictional main character and completely neglects to give props the skill of the author who seemed to have made the reviewer believe the story was transposed from the torn out pages of a journal.
