"The one with the art-deco glass door?"

"That's the one."

"Oh, I love that place. Yes! Let's meet there, tomorrow at eight."

"Perfect!" he said. Then he laughed. "I guess I should tell you my real name, then."

She thought for a second, then she told him: "Wait until we meet. It will have more power then."

There was silence on the other end for a moment, then: "As you wish. I'll see you tomorrow, then."

She waited outside the restaurant, wearing her red dress and light blue scarf under her Burberry coat. A tall red-haired man, clean-cut and smiling, in a forest green jacket and black leather gloves, approached. She recognized his smile, and smiled back.

"Margaret McCullough," she said, extending a hand.

He took her hand gently. "Jared Davies." With his other hand, he gestured to the door. "Shall we?"

She nodded, and he opened the door for her. And she did not hesitate to step through it.
