- the staff at the Moscow office of Knight Frank Russia, Real Estate Agents, who sent us information about buying houses in Moscow and the details of many wonderful places to live, none of which we could afford -- but we knew some people who could!

- the staff at the general enquires desk at the British Embassy in Moscow who made enquires on our behalf to confirm when graduation ceremonies took place at Moscow State University;

- innumerable web sources from Wikipedia to Google Earth (plus all those that we have credited in the footnotes) that meant we could do all this without actually going to all of the places we mention (although one or other of us has been to most of them).

Finally, there are one or two people who we ought not to name personally but who answered a number of specific questions and sometimes oblique questions about Russian life and customs which we have been able to incorporate into the text, to create a more realistic background to Jenny's adventures when she was Vyera.

Mistakes, misunderstandings and other blunders no doubt still lurk in the text. Phil and Freddie take responsibility for them and apologise: we will try to get it better next time.
