The 747 landed at Gatwick at little after 7am, after clearing customs they found a taxi that dropped them off at the mews house.
The weather was freezing, after Barbados the flat felt cold not having been used for over a month.
They kept their coats on until the central heating began to take effect on the chill of the house.
Neither wishing to face the cold outside, so decided to have a Chinese take away, Terry phoned through the order. After they had eaten and cleared away they went to bed, she knew he would have to leave early. They were content to lie in each other's arms feeling the heat of their own bodies as sleep over came them.
He left at six; taking the Celica out of the garage, he threw in his valise into the boot, and started the long journey back to RAF Renton.
The honeymoon was over.
