We also stop off at Walmart to grab a Jerry can, a couple of baseball bats, two dozen cloths and motor oil. Following this we go to the nearest hardware store to get some kerosene. Next we stop off at the beer store and buy twenty-four bottles of Molson Canadian. Last we fill the Jerry can at the gas station before going home. You can probably guess what I'm planning with some of these things.

Once we arrive I get to work emptying the beer into some juice pitchers. No point in wasting perfectly good beer after all. I fill the empty bottles a little over halfway with a mixture of two thirds gasoline and one third motor oil. This will make the fire last longer. Next comes soaking the cloths in kerosene, inserting them into the bottles and plugging the top with a cork. It takes some time, but I manage to make two dozen Molotov cocktails. I give half of them to Julia along with a baseball bat. Hopefully this will be enough because if not then we are screwed. At the very least the darkness of night should help to hide us from the humans. Doubt it'll hinder the demon. After we mentally prepare for what's to come we head out.

After switching vehicles and changing our appearances we head over to crash their dinner party. After getting close enough I transfer the car to my inventory. God I am terrified. If things go badly I'm dead, but if I want to get stronger this is something that must be done. Who knows how many more people will be killed if no one stops them. Besides they deserve to die.

People who only bring pain to others don't deserve to live. Who knows how much better my life would've been if someone killed my dad before everything happened. I could've lived my life blissfully unaware of what a scumbag he was. My mom would've been able to raise me and her life wouldn't have been cut short. Don't even get me started on Stacy. If someone killed that slut before I met her she wouldn't have ruined my life.

I'm doing the right thing and the history books will remember me as someone who helped create a brighter future for everyone. Okay calm down. I shouldn't be getting myself so excited. Need to stay calm so I don't screw up and get one or both of us killed. Obviously Eve isn't in any danger. Hell if this demon sensed her presence it'd probably take off. This is why she extinguished her presence by hiding in my shadow.

I creep into the shadows outside of their hideout which seems to be a really old building that I don't think anyone has lived in for a long time. There is an unpleasant feeling in the air I imagine caused by the demon. The sound of footsteps and something dragging draws my attention away. I use [Analyze] to find a thrall of gluttony dragging someone that appears to be unconscious.

I use the party chat to tell Julia to stay back. After withdrawing the crossbow I take aim at his torso. I didn't have much time to practice so hopefully it isn't too much different than a first person shooter. I take a deep breath and pull the trigger. Unfortunately my nervousness screws up my aim. The bolt hits him in the arm. The pain causes him to let go of the person he was dragging and cry out in agony. Not good. If anyone inside heard that this raid could be over before it's begun.

I rush over to him returning the crossbow and drawing the bat as I do so. He turns trying to find who shot him however I'm already close enough to attack thanks to his momentary delay caused by the pain. I hit him in the head with the bat to knock him out. The impact causes him to collapse onto the ground unconscious.

I reload the crossbow before using [Energy Harvesting] to drain the life out of him while covering his mouth to stifle any sounds. I make sure to remain cautious in case anyone comes out, but thankfully no one does. It's true what they say the first one is the hardest. This time it was noticeably easier, but that feeling of pleasure came over me again I decide to ignore it because there are more important things to worry about right now. I move his corpse into my inventory before checking on the other guy.

Unfortunately there's nothing we can do to remove his sleep debuff at the moment. So I sit him up against a wall hidden in the darkness before we move on. Carefully heading into the building making sure to stay in the shadows. I work my way through the house careful not to make noise. After a couple empty room I hear two voices coming from the next room.

I carefully look inside luckily they didn't notice me. [Analyze] reveals they too are thralls of gluttony meaning they're beyond help. Shit how do I deal with two at once. [Mana Cannon] would draw too much attention. The crossbow can only fire once before it needs to be reloaded. Okay I've got an idea. Judging by their slurred speech they're probably drunk. I'm guessing they've already been rewarded by the gluttony demon for bringing it fresh meat. That should make things go smoother. Julia hides nearby in case some else shows up and I make my move.

I aim at the guy on the left and fire. Immediately after doing this I unequip the crossbow and reequip my bat. The bolt hit the guy in the stomach. During the confusion I rush in and attack the other one swinging the bat as hard as I can. It connects with his ribs the impact sending him into the wall. I follow up while he's reeling in pain this time connecting with his jaw knocking him to the floor. Next rushing over to the guy with the bolt in his stomach I smash the bat into his face. Unfortunately the commotion drew the attention of someone else who kicks me in the back. I turn around to retaliate only to see him falling to the ground and Julia holding her bat preparing to attack again. Damn it [Danger Sense] has been going off since I entered the building so I had no idea that guy was there.

After waiting for a second to see if anyone else would show up I use [Energy Harvesting] on these three and then move their corpses into my inventory. Four down two to go plus their boss. The rest of this floor is empty so we move upstairs. We find Tim the thrall from the homeless shelter guarding three people. These three are conscious, but tied up and gagged. Unfortunately I think the gluttony demon has already eaten two people tonight. If the thralls showed up empty handed I'm sure it would get upset. Not to mention they wouldn't get any of it's blood that they're addicted to. Odds are the two drunks were rewarded after it ate. It's a demon so I doubt it'd reward them first. After all what if the person tasted disgusting. God what a screwed up thought.

After reloading the crossbow I take aim and fire hitting him in the throat. That wasn't intentional, but it certainly helped as he didn't last much longer. Just dying while choking on his own blood. I free them from their bondage and tell them to leave and help the guy who's outside. Once they're gone I add Tim's corpse to my inventory.

A few empty rooms later we come across two guys. One is another thrall. The other is a guy who looks to be at least four hundred pounds. Although [Analyze] says he's a level ten gluttony demon. Unfortunately he knows I'm there. His goon rushes towards me, but I quickly use [Mana Cannon] without charging it to send him across the room.

Realizing there's no one else in the building I pull out a Molotov, set it on fire and throw it into the room with the gluttony demon Julia follows suit. We start chucking Molotov's throughout the house as we leave. Hopefully leaving him inside of a burning building will kill him. Once outside I make sure the guy from before is gone which he is.

Thankfully it looks like the four of them fled. Unfortunately the gluttony demon isn't dead. Bursting out of the front door is a creature that looks like a combination of Muk from Pokémon and Jabba the Hutt. It's whole body is like a giant blob of flesh with a mouth big enough to easily swallow a person whole. Maybe the pain of being on fire made it break the transformation. The fire has reduced its health below twenty percent.

I hand the crossbow to Julia and tell her to keep throwing Molotovs at it as I begin charging [Mana Cannon]. Luckily the fire is obscuring it's vision giving me time to put all of my MP into this attack. As Julia throws her last Molotov I prepare to unleash my attack, but the demon is too far away. As I'm trying to get close enough to use my attack I trip over something and accidentally release the attack completely missing the demon.

Shit there goes my best chance to finish this guy off. Damn it what the Hell is wrong with me. I've just screwed everything up. Why didn't I think of a plan B. Now isn't the time for this I've gotta do something before we get killed. I equip a Molotov and the HUD tells me I've got six left counting this one. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure this thing is resistant to fire damage or else it would be dead by now.

While telling Julia my new plan through the party chat I remove the car from my inventory and hand her the keys as I take the crossbow. As Julia drives away I throw a Molotov to buy me time to reload. After the bolt hits the demon it's health goes down by one percent. Damn it obviously that won't work unless it hits something vital, but my aim isn't good enough for that.

I store the crossbow, withdraw the wolf blanket and activate [Adrenaline Rush]. I rush forward and once I'm close enough throw the blanket to block it's sight while I circle behind it and equip my bat. Swinging with all the power I can muster the bat impacts the demon multiple times causing very small damage. Unfortunately I don't see it's attack coming and am sent flying through the air landing painfully on the ground probably ten feet away with over half of my health gone.

The demon slowly gets closer luckily because it's attention was focused on me it didn't notice Julia until it was to late. The car slams into the demon causing it to scream in pain. With the demon as a hood ornament Julia drives toward the house before bailing out sending the demon and my car into the fire.

Shortly afterwards there is an explosion and part of the house collapses. A few minutes later the victory music plays and numerous windows pop up.

I also got the [Stealth], [Marksmanship] and [Blunt Weapon Mastery] skills. Naturally the reward for defeating enemies was divided between Julia and I. The other's weren't though and my experience just jumped from one thousand nine hundred and forty-five to three thousand six hundred and forty-five. At this point I realize there is someone watching me. Shit it's Violet the woman we met earlier. This explains why Eve hasn't left my shadow yet. She waves us over and says.

"Quick follow me I can help you get out of here."
