The fresh air outside seemed to clear her head, and common sense suggested that food was well overdue. It would give her chance to try and make sense of everything that had happened, and where on earth that dream had surfaced from. Sarah stopped at the cash machine to check her balance before heading to that little bistro on the corner, and tapped in her number.
That couldn't be right? The balance: it was way out! Like, 45 grand too much!! Where the hell had that come from? Wait a minute she thought, as realisation began to dawn; 50k less 10% comes to 45k.
"Well, a contract is a contract. You didn't think I was going to let you walk away from it, did you?" chuckled a dark and all too familiar voice behind her. "However, I'm not in a position to collect at the moment, there are 'other' commitments I must attend to first. But one day my dear, the clock on my 48 hours will begin ticking..."
And the sound of heavy boots faded way behind her.
