"They are gone. I know not where, but they are gone."
"Lu, what happened?"
"I am mortal, now," Lu answered.
"Is that why you are bald?"
Lu felt for her hair of smoke, but felt only her smooth skin and clear air. She smiled nervously and nodded to him. He chuckled to bring her some warmth, and put his arms over her shoulders.
"Then I shall cherish every moment," he said, "as I cherish every thing that grows under the one sky."
"The earth whereon I walk, I will walk with you."
They kissed, and the crystal grove sang in ode to the love and new life of the druid and the igniad.
