She stepped into the hallway and walked away without so much as another look. Apparently the old man had been right, she had no memory of our activities that had happened just a moment before. Fucking unbelievable!
Sitting at my desk moments later I thought about what had happened and what was yet to come. The source of this wonderful gift was as mysterious as ever but its usefulness was undeniable. I didn’t know if it really was a ‘rope’ as the old man had described it but I knew that my life had changed dramatically.
