The Improbable Adventure Ch. 03

"Who else is down there?" the ranger called, pulling out his flashlight, and I realized that he'd surely find them and take them in, and then they'd be deported! I decided not to allow that to happen. With a rapid motion I let the blanket unfold, then threw it forward over the ranger, momentarily entangling him in its folds, then began running east into the woods. "Hey, stop!" the ranger screamed, quickly pulling the blanket off, "God damn it! I'll get you!" I looked back just long enough to ensure that the ranger was pursuing me, allowing Radek and Jana time to escape. Then I turned and sprinted, naked, into the darkening woods.
