Questions abound!
Shawn's in trouble. Kia and Shai are in trouble. Susan's in trouble. Will Shawn die at the hands of some scrawny little Yemeni sadist? Will the CID do anything to rescue a half assed agent? Are Shai and Kia doomed to a life of sexual slavery in the seraglio of some crude Sudanese general? Will Susan succumb to the seductive blandishments of a servile Todd Bitterman, or will she end up the professional perhaps even carnal, concubine of the even more despicable Oscar Camulos? And what of Kim, Is he even alive?

...but first, I like this story.
You've made us actually LIKE the principals.
Having Shawn actually 'break' makes him more...human. For a while there he was so invincible it bordered on unbelievable.
Now for the silly little thought.
Like 99% of the world you mis-quoted Jim Lovell. What he actually said was, "Houston, we HAD a problem."
That bit of trivia out of the way; keep up the good work.
I wish you would go back to the Susan and Shawn love story. I understand there are undertones of it going on...but I want to see them reconnect again. I honestly skim past all the war stuff you write because I find it uninteresting. I have stuck with the story to this point in hoping you would finally have them meet up again...but I am losing faith in the story. I don't feel myself connecting with the characters anymore. I miss the intensity the two of them had. I am also bored with how it seems like everyone and their mom wants to kill/hurt Susan/Shawn. The constant down the story is on is repetitive and boring.
I give you credit because you know how to write well. I just wish the theme/plot of the story would go back more toward the Romance category you have it slated under.
This was a very intense chapter. Shawn taken as prisoner and beaten was tough to read. The women taken as prisoner, makes me cringe at what could happen. Nice job keeping us on edge.
It seems that everyone in this chapter is in serious trouble, except for Kim. I guess it's up to him to save all of them now.
I hope that everything works out for the lot of them.
Thanks
