"I just want you to be okay baby girl. I'll see you later, yeah?"
The women went their separate ways. Andrea dragged herself home, collecting Sophia from school on her way. Dinner was a simple affair, pasta with a dollop of pesto from a jar. It was a lazy dinner and woefully lacking in nutritional value, but she couldn't face cooking anything more adventurous. Sophia was so excited about the goal she scored at football club that afternoon she didn't notice her Mums unusually despondent mood.
Andrea found it hard to sleep that night. She kept replaying the days events over and over in her head, trying to work out what had happened. Why he'd done it, why she'd let him do it and why he'd sent her away so unexpectedly? Finally, she fell into a restless fitful sleep.

This opening chapter was really good. I enjoyed it. Gave it a five.

always_yesover 9 years agoI was so invested in this story when I found it that I didn't stop to comment, but it's so subtly sexy and hot. I love the mystery of it, the surprise in his actions, and her reactions. Just fantastic and so well written!
