The Morrisons Ch. 10

Terri smiled then moved Hanna towards everyone so they could float and talk.

Meanwhile, I was finishing up my last meeting of the day instructing all the department heads: "I want to meet with all of you on Friday morning at eight o'clock sharp. You will receive an inter-office memo with the location of the meeting, sometime tomorrow. In the meantime, I want each of you to pull up your last quarterly report and review it by the week. I also want you to prepare a report on your department which will be current as of Thursday. Bring all of that with you to the meeting on Friday. Thank you very much and we will see you then.

I turned to Tom saying, "This was sprung on me and we haven't even had a chance to talk about my duties. Do you have a job description written up so I can review it?"

"Here's the fun part about your new job Mr. Morrison, there is no job description per se, since you are the first person to hold the position since we've gone public, you are going to write your own job description as you go along. I'm going to be in your meetings, but after this afternoon, you will be running all the meetings, unless I call one myself." Tom told me.

I looked at Tom saying with a big grin, "So this is a no pressure type of position."

Tom broke out in a huge belly laugh saying, "If you think you had pressure before, wait till I send you to Egypt on a three day conference and expect you to bring me back positive results."

I laughed and said, "No sweat boss, you might end up with more than you bargained for."

Tom slapped me on the back saying, "Mr. Morrison, that's why you were given this position. I'm looking for you to give me more than I expect. I've reviewed all your quarterly reports and each one is outstanding."

Tom said, "I know you have many things to do before tomorrow and by the way, plan on leaving here about three tomorrow afternoon. I've decided we are going to take a trip so I can introduce you to our biggest client and get you started. We will be in meetings on Wednesday then fly back late Wednesday afternoon."

I shook hands with Tom and said, "We'll be in my office for a little while if you need us."

I turned and started walking with Beth right beside me. When we walked into the office I put my paperwork down and walked over to the bar and asked Beth, "Do you want another glass of wine to settle your nerves?"

With an over exasperated sigh Beth stepped up to the bar and said, "Dan, I am a total ball of nerves; I'd love a glass of wine or two."

I poured both of us another glass of wine then walked over and plopped down in my chair. Beth walked over and sat down in the chair across the desk from me. We held our wine glasses up high and said, "Cheers" then we took a long sip.

I looked at Beth and said, "We are going to be traveling for one day, tomorrow afternoon, so both of us will have to have some clothes here to take with us. I don't even know where we are going or for what reason so I'm going to guess and say you should have a business suit with a skirt. You will most likely need some leisure clothes, so bring a blouse or two and bring a pair of dress slacks and a skirt. You may want to throw in some thigh high stocking in case we go out to dinner because they are cooler than pantyhose. You will need a pair of business shoes and a pair of leisure shoes. Your underwear is up to you."

Beth sat in her chair staring at me. Her mouth was agape and her eyes were as big around as quarters. I looked back at her and simply said, "When my wife and I travel, I try to pre-plan our clothes. I have been married for many years and I don't want you to take what I say as sexual harassment. I have a wife and two daughters and that makes me somewhat of an expert on women's wear. Especially when they drag me to a boutique and make me sit there while they try on underwear and lingerie and then ask my opinion on how it looks on them."

Suddenly Beth broke out in a fit of laughter and once she calmed down enough to talk she said, "You had me worried, Dan. When you mentioned that thigh high stockings were cooler than pantyhose I thought you may have been speaking from personal experience."

It took a moment for it to sink in, but when it did, I broke out laughing too. Looking at Beth I said, "We need to polish up on each other's habits or we are going to be the brunt of embarrassment."

Beth turned serious and said, "That's what I was trying to do before we left your office for this last round of meetings. Dan, Brenda said she sometimes has to work with Tom in his room at night on reports before a meeting the next day. She said they only dress in their pajamas. Dan, I don't own any pajamas. I was trying to tell you that I sleep nude."

I looked across my desk and took a large gulp of my wine before saying, "Beth you are my executive secretary now and you can't reveal our personal conversations with anyone, just like I am not going to reveal any of our personal conversations with anyone. So I'm just going to come right out and tell you, I, along with all my family members, are nudists. We always have been and always will be. When I get home at night I am nude until I have to get dressed to come to work or go to the store."

Beth looked at me long and hard to see if I was going to change my story, but when I sat in my chair and stared at her she said, "Holy shit! Dan, I'm a nudist too. My parents raised me and my two brothers and two sisters in a nudist home life. I don't believe it. I have searched all over for a boyfriend who was a nudist, and now I find out the man I've been working with for the past six years is a nudist."

"Beth, had I known you were a nudist I would have invited you to the party we just had over the weekend. There were probably 25 people there. I live out in the country and I have a large pool and a hot tub for everyone to hang out in." I told Beth with a big smile on my face.

Beth got a sullen look on her face and said, "Won't your wife be jealous if she finds out I am a nudist?"

I smiled and said, "Let's find out together. Come over here and dial my home number and ask for Kim just like you've done hundreds of times."

Beth got up and walked behind me, then sat on my desk and punched the speaker phone button and dialed my number. Suddenly we heard, "The Morrison residence, Terri speaking, how may I help you?"

Beth spoke up saying, "Hi, Terri this is Beth, Dan's secretary, is Kim there?"

Terri said, "Oh hi Beth, yes she's here, just a moment please."

Soon we heard Kim say, "Hi Beth, this is Kim, what can I do for you?"

Beth paused and looked at me and after I nodded my head she said, "Hi Kim, we are sitting in Dan's new office. You should see it, it's huge and it's gorgeous! Dan and I were informed that we will be taking a trip tomorrow afternoon on the corporate jet and we were just talking about the clothes we will need and not need. Kim, ........ ummm....... are all of you in your family really nudists?"

The phone was silent as Kim hesitated before asking, "Is Dan right there with you Beth?"

I spoke up saying, "Yes honey, I'm sitting right here. Only Beth and I are in my office and we have you on speaker phone so both of us can hear your response. She is telling you the truth we are going on a trip tomorrow afternoon and we were discussing the clothes we will need."

Kim started laughing before saying, "Beth, Dan won't need many clothes when he gets to his room. Our family members are nudists and none of us wear clothes when we are at home. And if this line of questioning is to find out if I will be jealous when you and Dan spend some quality time nude or whatever, the answer is a resounding NO. Beth if we had known you were interested in nudism, we could have invited you to our party we had this past weekend."

It was Beth's turn to start laughing and when she quieted down she said, "That's exactly what Dan just told me. Kim, I am a nudist also and I was raised that way with two brothers and two sisters. My family used to spend a month of vacation time in a nudist resort each year from my earliest memories. My mom and dad still go and take my brothers and sisters who are still at home."

"I wish we had known Beth, because we have a beautiful pool and a hot tub out on the deck and you would have been welcome to join us. As you know, we keep our corporate lives and our private lives separate for obvious reasons. I am sure you do as well. So I will extend an open invitation to you to come out here and join us anytime you would like. We enjoy having others who are nudists around us." Kim graciously said to Beth.

"Oh .... and Beth, the people who work for us are all nudists, so we have many nude people in our home who aren't related to us at all." Kim finished saying.

Beth was overjoyed to hear what Kim had to say and when Kim finished speaking she asked, "So I have an open invitation to come out to your home, anytime?"

Kim replied, "I don't want to put any pressure on you, but if you want to come home with Dan tonight, you can spend some time with us so you will know you have nothing to worry about when you travel with Dan. Then both of you can go to work in the morning."

Beth's eyes brightened and she asked, "Are you kidding, I can't intrude on you and your family."

Kim said, "Beth, you won't be intruding, we have the extra rooms and if you can stand a little bit of chaos, you can get that guy in the chair to bring you home with him."

Beth smiled at me, asking, "Are you sure that I won't be intruding?"

I said, "There is only one way to find out and that's to jump in my car and go with me."

"But what about my clothes for tomorrow and what about me going shopping and you have to go shopping for new suits to hang in the closet here in our new offices?" Beth asked.

Kim jumped in and asked, "Shall I plan on a late dinner? I didn't know until now that you will have to stop and get some suits."

I spoke up saying, "Honey, both Beth and I were informed today that we need at least three to four days worth of clothes hanging in our closets with all the necessities because in our new position we may have to travel without much notice. Instead of bringing in my suits from home, I am going to stop by and get a few new suits, shirts and the other necessities, and then have them delivered here tomorrow morning. I told Beth it would be better if she did the same thing. So it looks like both of us will have to shop before coming home."

Kim replied, "No problem dear, we will plan on a late dinner and bring Beth home with you."

Kim continued, "Beth, if you need some lingerie, Dan knows a great little boutique where you can get great deals. If you want to know how something looks on you, you can ask Dan, he's an expert on lingerie."

"On a final note, Dan, our new system is almost done and will be finished by this evening. The gate is up and has been tested and it's working fine. Everything else is being installed as we speak and will be operational tonight." Kim said without much fanfare.

I replied, "That's great, honey. I need my code to open the gate."

Kim said blandly, "Marion told me earlier today while everything is being set up, they are using 12345. That's all it will take to come through the gate. Take Beth and go shopping and then call me when you are almost done so we can time dinner for when you arrive."

I looked up at Beth who was still sitting on the edge of my desk and she nodded her head before saying, "Kim, are you sure it's ok for your husband to take me shopping and then bring me home with him?"

Kim replied emphatically, "Oh yes, Beth, it will be great to see more of you. Pun intended."

Both of us burst out laughing along with Kim on the phone. I said, "Honey, we will have a great shopping trip and will see you in a little while."

Beth looked at me saying, "Dan, can I be frank with you?"

I looked at Beth and quickly replied, "Beth, we are going to be spending more time together than we ever did before and it's apparent to me that our new relationship is going to go much further than you just being my secretary, so from this point on, when we are alone, then you can be as frank with me as you want. I never dreamed anything like this would happen but now that it has, we are going to share a very close relationship."

Beth fidgeted and looked down as she said, "I'm not sure I have a lot of money in my checking account to go shopping like you've described. I have only had a secretary's salary until today and although I have a small savings account, buying business suits and all the extras to put in my office will wipe out my savings account and my checking account. I didn't want to tell you all this but when Kim told you to take me shopping I knew I better say something."

I looked at Beth and said, "Beth, remember when Brenda told you this morning you will be responsible for making sure I am dressed to impress, well between you and me, and Kim later when we tell her, I am going to make sure you are dressed to impress as well. Furthermore, I want you to think of this as my gift to you for your promotion."

Beth's eyes filled with tears so I handed her a tissue. After dabbing her eyes Beth asked, "Dan, may I hug you?"

I stood up and immediately Beth flew into my outstretched arms and hugged me, saying, "I can't believe how wonderful you are. First you bring me along with you in your promotion and then you tell me you are going to buy me gifts, what did I ever do to deserve all this?"

I held Beth tightly for a few seconds before I replied, "Beth, you have always taken care of business as my secretary. You went the extra mile to make sure my reports were in on time or early, you have always been courteous to everyone, including those who didn't deserve it. I've noticed, even though you didn't think I did. I've congratulated you on a job well done but I've also made additional notes on your evaluation reports. Beth, you above all, deserve this promotion because you helped me. Now it is my turn to help you, so I hope you won't mind my intrusion into your personal life and help you choose some business suits and whatever else catches my eye that I think you will look great wearing. I want my secretary to be dressed to impress. Now let's go shopping, I can't wait to get you out of your clothes."

Beth smiled up at me saying, "Oh, another man who only wants to see me naked."

I smiled at her saying, "Wait until I take you to the boutique, you are going to love modeling for me."

Beth and I left the office and got in my car and drove downtown to a shop which specialized in business suits for both men and women. As we walked into the shop I told Beth, "We will go to the women's business suit section first and once we have all that you need then we will go to the men's section."

We walked into the shop and I asked the first employee I found to get the shop manager for me. The employee scurried off and soon returned with the manager. He walked up to us and said, "Hello. My name is John, how may I assist you."

I smiled at John and said, "Hello John, my name is Dan Morrison and this young lady is Ms. Thompson and we are here to purchase a few business suits each, with all the accessories. We will need our purchases delivered tomorrow morning, to the address on this card, not later than ten o'clock. Will your shop be able to tailor our suits and meet the deadline for delivery?"

John said with confidence, "Yes Mr. Morrison, we have tailors who work in the evening and we can deliver your purchases tomorrow morning. May I ask; have you been in our shop before?"

I smiled at John saying, "Yes I have and I like the quality of your suits but until now I've only purchased a couple at a time. We will be traveling, so I want to purchase suits for both of us so we don't have to raid our closets. You understand, don't you John?"

"Yes, yes, I understand completely." John said with a huge smile.

John raised his arm and made a couple of motions with his hand and we were quickly joined by both a young lady and a young man. John looked at me saying, "Cindy will assist Ms. Thompson and Jeff will assist you Mr. Morrison. They may look young but both of them are very knowledgeable in fashion and can assist you will all your purchases."

I looked at Cindy and Jeff saying, "I'm glad to meet you and we will go together and start first with Ms. Thompson's suits and accessories then we will move to my suits and accessories. I hope that is ok with both of you."

Immediately John said, "That's fine. I'm positive you will be absolutely delighted with our selections."

Cindy said, "If you will follow me we will get started."

Within an hour and a half Beth and I had selected five suits for each of us. I made sure Beth selected a couple of suits with both a skirt and slacks. Beth and I were both measured and our suits were going to be tailored overnight. Cindy and Jeff were very helpful while Beth and I selected all the accessories we needed. When we were finished making all our selections I handed my card to Cindy and she went to the register to total up our purchases. When she returned with my card, I thanked her and Jeff for their assistance. When I shook hands with them I slipped each of them a one hundred dollar bill for their help.

Beth and I walked down the street about four doors and entered a great little shoe shop I've been using for a few years now. When we walked in Jenny saw me and came right over and greeted me by saying, "Hello Mr. Morrison, how are you today?"

I replied, "I am fine Jenny and since I woke up on the top side of the grass, my day started off excellent."

Jenny laughed at my lame joke, asking, "What can I do for you today, Dan?"

I turned and said, "Jenny, I want you to meet Beth Thompson. Both of us are in need of a few pair of dress shoes and a couple pair of leisure shoes. And we will need our shoes to be delivered to the address on this card not later than ten o'clock tomorrow morning. Can you do that for us, Jenny?"

Jenny smiled and said, "Dan, we always take extra special care of our great customers. Yes, we can deliver your purchases at the time you need them."

About forty fine minutes later Beth and I were walking out of Jenny's store. We got back in my car and drove a few minutes to the boutique. When Beth and I walked into the boutique, the old lady who really didn't like me spotted us immediately and frowned at me, then I smiled back at her. She started walking towards us but I shook my head from side to side and she stopped dead in her tracks. From out of nowhere the young saleslady who was so helpful the last time I was in here with Kim, Jenna and Terri walked up saying, "Hi, my name is Brittany. I remember you were here about a month ago. May I assist you today?"

I smiled at Brittany and said, "Yes, Ms. Thompson is in need of some lingerie. I am also suggesting we look for a nice mid-thigh length robe."

Brittany smiled and said, "Please, follow me, we will choose a robe first and then look through the lingerie and see what Ms. Thompson likes."

We started to follow Brittany through the aisles when Beth looked up and me saying in a hushed voice, "Why are you doing this Dan?"

Smiling down at Beth I also used a hushed voice when I said, "I want my secretary to be undressed to impress. I want you to have some lingerie for those occasions when we have to travel and there may be a need for you to wear something. I hope you don't think I'm being to forward given our new found revelations."

Beth hugged my arm to her chest and said, "I always knew you were a great boss, but now I'm finding out you are not only a great person, you're also a caring person. Thank you so much!"

"Beth, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but you are going to find out more about me than you ever have in the six years you've worked for me. And when you try on your lingerie, I am going to find out more about you than I ever have in the six years you've been my secretary." I calmly said with a smile.
