Long minutes later, as we were cuddling, Laura said "So you're still on this case of this football player?"

"For now." I said. "I'm afraid that the politics are going to get ugly, though, since he's on the football team. I'm hoping that it's some kind of natural causes or accident and we can find out what happened and close the case, but..." I paused, thinking.

"But...?" Laura queried, to make me finish.

"But I don't think it's that simple." I said. "And I think this kid was murdered."
