"TOGETHER we can fight anything, baby, and don't you forget it. I love you."
"I love you more."
"I love you most."
"You'll never love me more than I love you. It's not possible."
I playfully slapped his head.
"What did I tell you about saying that?"
He burst out laughing and cuddled with me until we both fell asleep.
At least Lucas is less than a drama now but Tom is being a little of a drama queen. I love your story. The secret to a good marriage and a good long term relationship really putting the your partner first. You have to think of you both as one. Being in a relationship for over 16 years with lots of ups and downs job losses, problems, when you think of both of you as one and do what is best for each other, then no matter what happens you have each other. When you start putting yourself first and not your partner and your relationship first then you have real problems.
Yeah, it's official, Tom is a nutcase. Don't get me wrong, he seems to have come by it honestly, but that doesn't make the guy any less unhinged. And instead of pushing him to get some help, Lucas is only furthering Tom's dependency on him by telling him what he wants to hear. No, it's not 'all gonna be okay.' Things definitely won't be okay if Lucas continues to ignore Tom's serious psychological issues.
Honestly, while I enjoyed reading about these two for awhile, I find their relationship disturbing now, and I think this will be the last chapter I read.
I'm concerned that Tom is...somewhat unstable. I love Tom! But he needs to deal with his issues. And I'm not talking about him not wanting to come out of the closet either. I find it very admiral for Lucas to stay in there with him and not leave him behind. Lucas is definitely Tom's anchor.
There was real emotion and tenderness in this chapter that makes it the best so far. It would have been even better without the dogs (I'm not a dog lover).
What is this I just don't understand. You're just moving forward with the story just for the sake of it. The reasons to fight and their underlying causes are too perplexing. And then they make up over those already asinine issues and have sex.
You need to bring the story forward with logic and feeling instead of just penning it down.
