Suddenly, Cheka's eyes bulged and his mouth gaped opened. Dark red blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, and he collapsed on top of Jason in a heaping mass. Jason struggled to roll Cheka's lifeless body off of him. When he cleared him, he saw that the young man from the prison standing over him with a bloody knife in his hand and a victorious grin on his face.

Jason Locke stood before his vast living room window and watched as the sun set in a blazing canopy of oranges and reds over the mountains in the distance. Beyond those mountains, in city after city, the war waged on. Word of the Third Revolution's victories in New Boston spread quickly, and insurrections in other cities soon followed.
The governors of neighboring cities sent troops to New Boston in an attempt to quell the rioting, but they eventually retreated in the face of a well-organized militia. New Boston was the first city to fall out of the hands of State control. Thanks to a reconstructed communications network, the new leaders of the city were able to coordinate with the leaders of revolutionary groups in other cities, and the movement spread and flourished. State infrastructures began to collapse from within, though a mixture of corruption and incompetence. Gradually, the people regained the freedoms they had lost.
Jason felt a presence behind him, and turned to see Kat stroll into the room. Her long black hair landed in gentle curls around her shoulders, and she softly hummed a tune with a sweet melody. She smiled and placed a beverage on the table, and then bent down to pick up their baby daughter, Emily.
He came to the table and sat down, while Emily smiled at him from the other side of the table. He gave her a playful wave, and she rewarded him with a toothless smile. He raised the glass to his lips and savored the sweet taste of the bubbling cola, mixed with a soothing blend of spiced rum.
"You've been working so hard," Kat noted, "tending the fields and animals all day, I figured you could use a treat. Is there anything else I can do for you, honey?"
Jason smiled and heaved a contented sigh. "I have everything I need," he said.

What we do have in Australia currently is a rising abhorrence with our rate of domestic violence. In a nation of 24 million we have one woman per week killed by a partner or ex-partner. (Not many men get killed.)
There are public campaigns at present demanding work be done to identify causes and find solutions.more...

Interesting, isn't it.
In our part of the world, we have, of course had some nasty rapes publicly reported and prosecuted. (And, I am sure, some equally nasties not reported because of the fear of fronting up to the legal system.)
It seems to me that encouraging victims to use the law and making it easier to do so is the solution, not re-defining the law.
We read about some of your nasty fraternity incidents. Fortunately, we don't have fraternities in our universities, although a couple of residential colleges had men prosecuted recently.more...
Yeah... :(
The father-figure plays a big role: was he there, and did he lead by example on how to treat women? Did he respect his mother?
Compare to that jerk-ass you know who beats his wife or like Rush Limbaugh saying, "Guys, have you ever found that 'no' means 'yes' with women, if you heard it right?"
Many boys grow up with a father who teaches them well. These are the good guys, and we do need their help. It isn't all man-hate, it's a plea to have the good guys, the Captain Americas, stand up and say these entitled rich fucks and otherwise fatherless learned-it-from-the-boys don't get their own personal harem just because they use rape drugs and force then blame the girl for being a girl. And the schools cover it up! Fuck!more...
Redefining rape
Typical that you oversimplify and demean the problem. My understanding was it was to outlaw the "No means yes" bullshit you hear from Fraternities. You know, "No means yes, and yes means anal," is an actual chant for frats I heave heard. Kind of like the one about hanging niggers from trees. Also meant to help those trapped in abusive incest, etc. so, yes means yes.
Might not be the best way to do it, see lots of problems for the average folk. For campus, would prefer there being actual criminal investigations for campus rape like there should n be (not guaranteed) for rape elsewhere. Not letting the schools handle it to protect their precious brand. Less than 5% of men on campus perform 90% of the rapes. Most guys are alright and they need not be punished along with the entitled asshole rapists, who need to be expelled and have a trackable record, not either stay in school or just hop from one school to the next until they kill someone (true story). Consequences for actions.
Someone I read compared this to schools/adults performing child sacrifice to assure themselves a good harvest the next year. How about write an experimental social commentary on that? It woukd be more erotic for the Non Con crowd and rewuire you to do more reading on rape culture.
As it is...you are doung what rape culture does....denying proposed solutions as "oh, so that is how you FEEL, huh? Well, suck it up. I am blind, and it could never happen to me or my sister."more...
Indeed
You could say I am hung up on equal pleasure opportunities for men and women.
No, we in the antipodes haven't yet reached the stage of re-defining rape, although we do have some strange proposals from the over-protectional feministas.
Anyhow, all the best with your future literary meanderings.more...
