She slowly walked into the living room where she eyed the broken Jack Daniel's bottle he had busted on the wall just moments earlier. She grabbed the jagged neck, wrapped her right hand tightly around it and walked quietly into the kitchen, her naked frame battered and sore. She was standing behind him staring at that stupid black cap he always wore with the word RAIDERS emblazoned on the front. She stood there with the broken bottle in her hand for a few seconds before Ellis felt her cool breath on his neck. He turned around just in time to see the jagged edge of the glass come down--
"Kim?" Brian was now sitting next to her holding her as the tears fell from her eyes.
"What's wrong, baby?"
Kim quickly stood up and wiped her eyes with her napkin.
"I have to go."
"Kim, don't --," Brian held onto her arm but she yanked it free as she grabbed her purse and scurried quickly out the front door.
Brian sat back in his chair staring at the two untouched slices of cherry pie as he tried to figure out what the hell had just happened.

Anonymousover 10 years agoTo be brutalized by the person who is claiming to love you is enough to drive you near crazy! No wonder she is so cautious! I am giving this story 2 five star ratings.....1 for the dream, and the next for Kim's strengths to get out and away from that maniac named Ellis! Now it is up to Brian to help her heal!
Anonymousover 15 years agoSaddens me that she came from an abusive relationship. It's good though that she's trying to recover and perhaps discover her true self.
