"What do we have to do in return?" Ulgo asked. Everyone stopped cheering at once to listen to Ryna's response.

"Damn Ulgo, way to kill the laughter. But, yeah, we have to take down all the defenses we put up over the last few weeks," Ryna announced. There was a moment, just a brief second or two, where everyone just stood still, trying to see if Ryna was lying.

"But all our hard work and training, were for nothing?" someone asked.

"That's the way it goes boys, but relax, the training wasn't for nothing. You are all way stronger than before, just in case this ever happens again," Ryna said, trying to bring their spirits back up.

"Yeah, I guess. Alright guys, back to work," Ulgo said. They all split up into different groups, each taking a specific barrier. Ulgo went about disabling all of the traps he and Ryna had set up. Feeling like crap after seeing the look on his friends' faces when he had told them, he decided to go out and help as well. At lunch time, Ryna ordered them all to take a break on the roof. He was about to join them when there was a knock on the classroom door.

"Come in," Ryna called.

"Darling, I have to tell you about this awesome thing we just finished learning about in class over the last week," Sensara said, beaming as she walked through the door.

"You haven't been here for the past week, so how could you have finished learning it?" Ryna asked, confused.

"It was covered in the handouts you brought from class," she explained.

"I see. So what is it?" he asked, curious.

"Have you ever fought someone who all of a sudden had this sudden burst of power or agility or something?" Sensara asked.

Yeah, what about it?" Ryna asked in return.

"I'm not going to ask who, but that person was using the Limiter system," she explained.

"You forget that this class doesn't have a teacher, so I have no clue what that is," Ryna said.

"Actually, I didn't know that. But anyway, the Limiter system is a biochip implanted into a woman's brain that allows them to use more of their brain, and amplifies the results, giving them incredible abilities," Sensara explained. She was nodding her head in excitement. She looked like she was about to go into a very technical explanation, so Ryna quickly interrupted.

"Spare me the technical info. So what are your powers?" Ryna asked, grabbing her hands.

"I don't know yet!" she announced, continuing to nod.

"That is so cool--wait a second, you don't even know?" Ryna asked.

"We have to be near the person we love in order to be able to use it," she said, finally ceasing to nod.

"Oh I see, so I'm important to this process," Ryna said smugly.

"Don't let it go to your head," she replied, rolling her eyes.

"Okay fine. Let's test it out," Ryna said, clearing away the surrounding desks just in case.

"You wave so little faith in me," she joked. In response to which Ryna sat underneath one of the desks in the makeshift circle. She closed her eyes, focusing for a few seconds before her eyes snapped open. Her pupils were a different shade than usual, prompting Ryna to emerge from under the desk to see if she was okay.

"Sensara?" Ryna asked. She looked at him when she heard his voice. But her eyes didn't focus on him, instead staying rather zoned out. "What is it Sensara, what is your power thing?"

"Ryna? Is that you?" she asked, fumbling toward him. She took two steps, then her knees buckled. He caught her and held her up so he could look at her eyes more carefully. They had turned a violet color, and were unable to focus.

"Yes, it's me, I'm right here. What do you see?" Ryna asked.

"I... I don't know. You're all pink, except for your heart and your head, which are all shiny. But when I stare at your heart, I see all these images. They all look like, you, but they keep getting older in each one." she explained, frightened.

"You can tell the future?" Ryna asked.

"Yeah, but I see other human shaped colors too. There are some grey ones to your left, some green ones, and some orange ones too." She looked behind her, "and there are some red ones moving toward us,"

"Hmm... maybe the colors represent emotions, or something of that nature," Ryna suggested.

"Maybe, we can find out later," Sensara replied, "Wait, Ryna, when I look at the red ones I feel... scared,"

"They're probably dangerous then, or angry," Ryna said. He led her to the side of the room away from the door and helped her under the desk. "Wait here. I think those red guys might be trouble."

"Okay," she mumbled back meekly. Ryna sat down next to the door and waited.

"On the off-chance my hunch was correct, and these guys are here for me, then I could be in for some trouble," Ryna thought.

Relax kid, I'm still here to help Carl announced in what sounded like a reassuring tone.

"Well, it has been a while since you decided to say anything. One would think that after 1000 years of silence, a man would be dying to talk to someone," Ryna thought.

After 10,000 years of silence, he corrected a demon learns how to keep occupied without talking.

"I'll bet he does. Anyway, I could be wrong," he thought-replied.

There is hostile intent directed at you coming from the hallway he informed Ryna.

"Can you read other people's minds too?" Ryna thought-asked in a mixture of amazement and fear.

I can read outward emotions very well, if that is what you mean he replied.

"Not really, but it's cool," Ryna thought, relieved. It was weird enough that Carl could read his mind, let alone that he could sense other's emotions.

As his thought-conversation concluded, the door slammed open. Ryna reacted, shoving a fist into the balls of whoever was unfortunate enough to be trying to get into the classroom. He keeled over, incapacitated by the sudden ballshot. His friend whoever, ignored his comrade's pain and shoved him into the classroom, then stepped in behind him.

By the time the first assailant had been pushed into the room however, Ryna had already sprung away from the wall and dropped into a defensive crouch. Ryna got a good look at his assailant as he came through the door. Tall, human male, with spiky blond hair and an earring in his left ear. The type of guy who looked like he was born to be a street thug. Not that Ryna cared.

Ryna abandoned his defensive crouch and flew at the man, his fist already drawn back to deliver a devastating hook to the man's jaw. The man's eyes grew wide, and he took the bait and ducked under the punch. When he got there, Ryna's other fist was waiting. It landed on his nose, and Ryna heard a crunch as the man flew back, propelled by the impact of the punch.

"All in a day's work," Ryna said, pretending to brush his shoulders off. He turned around to see Sensara leaning against the desk he had left her under.

"Do you even know who they are?" she asked, crossing her arms in a gesture of frustration.

"Nope,"

"Or who they were working for?"

"Nope"

"Or why they were here?"

"Presumably to hurt you,"

"What if they were here to sell girl scout cookies or something?"

"Do you see cookies?"

"No, but, that doesn't mean you can just beat someone up,"

"It was Carl's hunch too," Ryna said. Before Sensara could say anything else, two other people burst through the door.

"Ryna, Sensara, thank goodness we found you! There are two 3rd year goons on their way here--" one of them whom Ryna recognized as the 4th Year Markan, began to say.

"Look down," Ryna interrupted. Both he and Natalie looked down and saw the two goons they were just about to warn Ryna about. They looked at each other awkwardly, then Natalie turned to look at Ryna.

"I see they weren't a problem," she said.

"You might say that," Ryna replied.

"In any case, this is a breach of the treaty, and we must inform Headmaster Iures," Markan announced.

"Why?" Ryna asked.

"Because it was set up by Grandfather, so he's the one you need to tell about the attack!" It was Sensara who chimed in this time.

"Gramps said the victim could do as they see fit. Technically, we're the victims here," he said, glancing at the unconscious assailants, "and I think I'm going to go pay the 3rd Years a visit,"

"You really think that is a good idea?" Natalie asked.

"I don't really care if it is or isn't, it's the one I've decided on. Now are you going to move out of my way, or are you going to try to stop me?" Ryna asked, walking toward them. Sensara quickly rushed to his side. She would have tried to stop him, but she could sense his determination, and decided that it would undermine his authority to try and persuade him out of his idea here. Ryna realized this, and squeezed her hand as a gesture of gratitude.

"I'll do you one better," Markan started, "We'll join up,"

Ryna smiled, and pulled out his Personal Unit, and dialed the number for Ulgo's Personal unit. It rang for a few seconds before he picked up. "Boss?"

"Get your asses down to the 3rd Year floor boys, we're going to war again."

Great Read

I have been following this story from the start but, this is my first written comment. I'd just like to say "Thank You" and please keep them coming. Any complaint that could even be made regarding these chapters, would be the wait between them. BUT, that is not a true complaint because everyone should know that it takes time to create a read as interesting as this one. Agian, Thank You.
