I laugh back, "OK, and husband?"
"He was already drunk when I left, he's probably passed out somewhere. Actually, I don't care." A touch of sadness there, but then she grins.
"Thank you for making my night."
"Absolutely my pleasure!"
I step back, bend and pull up my jockeys and trousers.
She sighs, almost with regret and turns to walk back towards the reception, I cough to attract her attention, she turns back, I'm holding her knickers up, a flash of her white teeth, a laugh.
"You must visit Edinburgh again, bring them with you. Soon!"
She bends, takes off her shoes and begins skipping towards the light, laughing all the way.
Maybe I will.
