The horny soldiers line up, and, one by one, they fuck the women. As soon as one soldier finishes, two other captive women rush up and orally clean the semen from her vagina and lick her clean. Then another soldier moves up and penetrates the captive. From time to time, a soldier will forsake the captive's vagina and empty his seed into her anus. Nevertheless, another captive woman removes the semen and licks her clean. These couplings continue until the soldiers are sated, and then the women are released. Their buttocks and thighs are battered and bruised. The soldiers have gripped their breasts and have left them black and blue; in some cases, the horsehair nooses have cut deeply into their flesh. Cordele, who is now Marcus' wife, and holds a prestigious place in the camp hierarchy, has a group of the freed Roman women attend to the various wounds of the sexually battered foreign women. Cordele could not have stopped this Arena-like situation, but she vows to Marcus that she will leave his bed if he allows it to occur again. Marcus and Cordele gather the freed Roman women and have them pick the men they want to live with. If at a later date, they find their choice to be not to their best interest, they may find another mate among the men. With this in mind, the soldiers realize they had better treat the women gently and with deference or lose them to another soldier.

Sixty-two of the captive women who had not been brutally raped are given the choice of forming a brothel for the soldiers or each woman given to a group of men. They unanimously choose the latter. The remaining soldiers who weren't chosen by the Roman women are divided into sixty-two groups of five each; lots are drawn and the captives are given over to the groups.

They are told that should they attempt escape that they will receive harsh punishment. The first attempt will result in having their bellies, buttocks, and breasts branded with a hot iron. The second attempt will result in death by whipping. It remains to be seen as to the use of the twenty-two savagely raped foreign women.
