They Finally Meet Ch. 04

As the last crushing wave of ecstasy washed over her she felt exhausted. Her hand slipped from the wall and stumbling forward she found his arms around her waist steadying her.

Reaching across her body he shut off the faucet then lowered her to the shower floor. He sat beside her and they quietly collected themselves to the sound of trickling water washing down the drain. He took her hand in his as she gently rested her head on his shoulder.

The bathroom was as still as a library and she found it a little unnerving. She wondered what would happen next. Did he want to do anything else? Was this going to be awkward? Would he just leave?

Pushing back tears she decided to be the one to say something. "I'm chilly. I need a towel." And with that she stood and exited the tub.

Wrapping the fluffy white monogrammed towel around her body she began drying herself. She heard him stand then step on the tiled floor behind her. Out of the corner of her eye she watched as the second fluffy white towel slid from the bar upon which it had been resting.

Tears were pooling on the rims of her eyes. Quickly she pretended to dry her face. She hadn't thought about him leaving after he'd come to do what they'd talked about for so many years. She hadn't considered how empty the room would seem once he left and it made her sick to her stomach. Sadly, this is the price she would have to pay and there was nothing that could be done about it now.

When she finally turned around she saw that his look was rather somber. She watched him finish drying himself then wrap the towel around his waist.

Looking her in they eyes he said, "I've got a confession to make."

"What is it?" she asked.

What could he have to confess? Was something wrong? Her stomach clenched at the thought he hadn't enjoyed what just happened. She knew he came, she heard him. Worse yet, was he going to say good bye? Would it be, Thanks for the nice time, have a good life? Her mind was racing as he began moving towards her.

Wrapping his arms around her waist, he rested his forehead against hers. She couldn't even look into his eyes for fear he'd see the tears she was going to shed.

"I'm not leaving yet" he whispered. Relief washed over her as she began to cry. Holding her tightly he stroked her head, kissing her face tenderly.

Words sputtered out through muffled sobs, "I thought you were going to go...and then...maybe you didn't like what just happened..."

"Oh my god" he shouted, "How could I not love what just happend? I've only been dreaming about it for years!"

He didn't mean to but he started laughing which made her cry harder. He rocked her back and forth to calm her down while whispering in her ear everything she'd done that blew his mind.

After a little while the crying subsided and her emotions were more intact. He handed her some tissues and watched as she wiped her eyes and nose.

Feeling more composed she wondered when exactly he was leaving then forced it out of her head. She didn't want to know. She didn't want to think about it. She would instead enjoy every last minute they would share today.

Perhaps picking up on her vibe he took her hand and guided her out of the bathroom.

It was late evening and fading traces of an orange hued sky softly illuminated her room yet to her it looked bleak, as it would eventually be empty.

"What do we do now?" she asked rather sadly.

Pulling back the covers from the bed he replied, "I think we need some rest. Then we need some food."

He could tell by the expression on her face that she was thoroughly confused.

As he sat on the side of the bed he decided to let her in on his secret. "Remember how I told you I had a confession?"

"Right," her words were hesitant. "You're not leaving yet."

"Yeah, but it's like this. I'm spending the night." He waited for her reaction.

As the words sunk in, her eyes widened and she screamed, "You bastard! Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

He was laughing, "I wanted to surprise you."

"Surprise me? You drive me crazy!" She jumped on him which made him laugh even harder.

"So you want me to leave?" he teased.

She seemed to growl the words, "Not on your life mister. Not on your life!"

As they rolled across the bed in a swirl of white fluffy monogrammed towels the orange hued sky was dimming but her room didn't seem quite as bleak anymore.
