Aaron, concerned for his mate took her silence as apprehension. "She doesn't have to come up. You don't have to see her. If you wanted, we could leave here. I've got another place in town... just tell me what want."

His sincerity and concern for her well-being made her heart clench. Why did he have to make this so hard? He seemed so dead-set on making her a part of his world when there was no way that she could be. She would complete this mission, and then she'd be gone. It was how things had to be. She bit her tongue and trembled slightly as her very existence seemed to scream out.

Looking away from the beautiful man standing in front of her, she whispered, "Let her come up."

She listened as he typed a reply, each tone representing a letter. She knew what his response was, and his possessiveness towards her made the situation all the more confusing. This wasn't normal; people didn't feel this way after just meeting one another. The thought of a person that came into your life literally less than a day ago shouldn't cause your soul to cry out. It shouldn't cause a burning wake, threatening to destroy anything in the way of you and that person. She needed to leave.

Aaron watched her. Her expression was like stone, but then every once in a while he'd see something that looked like pain cross her features. Her whole body would tense, her breathing would become labored, and she'd look at him like he was her salvation.

Even in those moments when her brows were knitted and she seemed uncomfortable, he couldn't help but notice how lovely she was. He had waited nearly a century for her, and it pained him when he came to the realization that she didn't want to stay. He wanted to ask Alex what he would have done if Santana had been this resistant. It had seemed so easy for them; he wanted that. But as he studied his hellcat of a mate, he knew that he wouldn't be that lucky.

Their approach was heard before their knock on the door. She had heard them exit the stairwell as they made their way towards the apartment that she and Aaron were in. She knew that they'd sense the tension in the room, and she felt almost embarrassed.

Her eyes briefly met Aaron's as he made to leave to the room. Looking at the edge of the bed, she noticed his phone and her plan was suddenly set in motion.

She sat up in bed as the door opened first seeing Aaron, then who she knew to be Alex Carlisle walk in. His eyes hardened immediately as they settled on her. He watched her as if to ensure that she wouldn't be a threat, and then made a small hand signal. At his beckoning, a very timid looking Santana filed in, reaching for her significant other. He took her small hand in his and pulled her tightly against his side. She had yet to make eye contact with her sister and she couldn't help but think how different this girl seemed to the girl she had met nearly two hours ago.

She needed her older sister to trust her if this plan was going to work, so, she slowly stood and moved towards the apprehensive girl. Before she had even taken one step, Aaron had moved in front of her and Alex had pushed Santana behind his imposing body.

No, this wouldn't do.

"I just want to talk to her... she's my sister." She knew that referring to Santana as such would make the elder woman relax. The longing coming from the brown skinned girl was almost palpable. As she spoke, she leaned into Aaron's back, wrapping her arms around his body. She had never touched a man this way, so... intimately; she simply imitated the ways she had seen Santana act towards Alex. She loved the way that her body felt against his, her front flush against his hard back. She inhaled deeply, always wanting to remember this scent. She detested the fact that she couldn't keep him.

Aaron's body visibly relaxed as he felt his mate's small arms wrap around him. Maybe he had been wrong about her.

Aara stepped around Aaron, slipping her hand into his as she moved. She ignored the part of her being that both relished in the contact and screamed at her for her deceit. She needed everyone calm and off-guard if this was going to work.

"Alex, we haven't properly met," she said, reaching for his hand. Hesitantly, he placed his hand in hers.

Not many people were aware of all of Aara's gifts. The doctor, the guards, and even her siblings thought that her skills lay simply in her heightened senses. That wasn't the full truth. Aara could also control the senses of anyone she had physical contact with as long as that person was relaxed and unruffled. It was almost as if she took their senses away, into her own self. Her senses only heightened further while leaving the other person unaware of the world around them. It was temporary, lasting only a minute once she lost contact, and it drained her immensely. But using it now was her only chance at escape.

With both of their hands in hers, she briefly glanced to make sure that Santana was still holding Alex's hand. Once sure of the contact, she closed her eyes and thought of nothing but emptiness, a blackness, free of all light, sound, scents, and tastes. It usually worked so easily, never taking her more than a second to create the void, but this time, the darkness wasn't alone. It was plagued by icy blue eyes promising her forever. Lacking the time to eradicate those eyes and not even sure if she could, she pushed the feeling of nothingness from her mind, through her body and out through her fingertips.

She watched as the blank look overtook the three faces in the room. She turned towards Aaron, and quickly wiped away the tear that slipped down her face, a sob threatening to break through. There wasn't time for this; she had a mission. Pulling her hands away, lingering slightly longer in his, she moved towards her sister. Picking up her body as if it weighed nothing, Aara walked over towards the window and looked down.

There it was, a non-descript black Honda Civic, Zach leaning against the hood. He looked up as she approached the already-open window, another step taken by Aara to ensure her plan would work. The street was nearly empty. Even if it hadn't been, there was nothing any human could have done to stop what was about to happen.

Taking one last look back at Aaron, Aara tightened her grip on her sister, maneuvered both of their bodies onto the windowsill, and jumped, landing hard on her feet. Ignoring the gasps of a woman walking her dog, she climbed into the backseat, cradling Santana's much larger body against her own. Zach raced to the driver's side, and they were off. Leaning her head against the headrest, Aara forced herself not to look back.

I'm Sad

Yes, I. Am really sad, cuz there is only one chapter left, and it was written in Sept. Now it is almost Christmas. I suspect this will be another great series left unfinished. What a shame?!?!?

Seriously, that aara girl needs a serious smackdown. I expect to see plenty in your next chapter

Lovely story, and I'll bet that all santana's sisters marry alex's bros, ad zach marries aislyn. Then they go to toWn and kick some serious evil doctor butt! How am I doing so far?
