"That," said Alex, his face like the Cheshire Cat's, "was the first course."
"The first course?" asked Anne incredulously. "Dear god, what do you have planned next?"
Alex kissed her passionately on the mouth, and pulled away in triumph. "The entrée, of course, the fire-grilled piece of meat," he said, "and then the sweetness of dessert."
Anne sighed. "Well, make me a reservation now, 'cause I'm ready to eat more!"
Alex kissed her again and exited the bedroom, leaving Anne there on her back, her chest heaving up and down from joyous exhaustion. If this was only the first course ... what would be coming?
