"Yes," said Jenny, "there have been rumors about the people on trial and the circle they move in, and the stunts they try to pull.

I am worried about Andrea and I, and I am fearful about the safety of all of you. "You girls are really worried about what could happen during this trial then," said Chris, "I have never seen you so anxious Jenny."

As the court retired for the evening Jenny, the other women and I consoled Lisa and Marion, telling them not to let themselves be got to by the muckraking of the lawyers.

Then later that evening there was a shocking news announcement, one of the Jurors had been attacked outside his home by men with base ball bats. Apparently he had been told that if he knew what was best for him he would not convict the defendants.

To his credit this guy said he would not let himself be intimidated by this type of strong arm tactics and the police had assured him that they would protect him and the other jurors and witnesses. He said, "If we let ourselves be intimidated by this type of action, then the bedrock of our democratic system is at risk.

Unfortunately this event was to be the first of many during the trial......
