Click hereBlayne could sense her words and feel what she was doing. He had never imagined using magic to induce such terrifying nightmares, but it was effective. As she released her spell and set herself back down next to him, the hall was quiet. Blayne sat down on the desk as he waited for the people to figure out what they had just been told. Varia slumped next to him, a wide grin on her face.
"Okay, I believe you." The Speaker said solemnly behind them, "I don't know how, but these scenes that fill my mind horrify me. I understand now that we need your help."
"Good to see you gaining some common sense." Varia scoffed, crossing her arms.
"Stranger, what is your name?" A man stood up at the front of the crowd.
"I am Blayne Abassett. I was born and raised in New York by my late mother. Nearly two years ago my Planeswalker spark was awakened and I began my journey through the worlds of the Multiverse. I met a dark and cruel Planeswalker by the name of Nicol Bolas. He came here to destroy my world, but I managed to stop him. The cost was high and thousands died. The destruction was completely unreal, as all of you know." Blayne spoke loudly to the room around them, "Sometime between then and now, an engineered virus from anther world has made its way to the plane of earth and infected the human race. In the rest of the multiverse it is called Phyrexian Oil. It infects the body and mind, destroying both without mercy. Then it raises the body and begins to change it. No need to go into the horrid details: suffice to say it turns the body into something horrible that cannot be stopped without destroying the brain. Even then, a Phyrexian infected corpse of the is far from harmless. The poison is unending and our only hope is to burn every ounce of Phyrexian plague in existence. This must be done very carefully, as anyone who dies in battle against Phyrexians will be raised to fight on their side."
"So what do we do then? Are you expecting us to fire a nuclear weapon on our own city?" Another representative asked from across the room.
"No, that would be horrible and likely ineffective. I will not lie to you: the chances of survival for the human race are grim. Even one spore of the Phyrexian infection is all that is needed to kill the planet. The world must band together to face this foe and eradicate the threat all across the globe. With the first outbreak on shore of the Atlantic, the ocean currents could carry the infection to any place in the world. Every man, woman and child must be vigilant." Blayne explained, "My comrades and I are fighting constantly to stop this threat. Two of them, Chandra and Maria, have been fighting the outbreak in Manhattan for days. They have managed to contain the outbreak there, but that won't mean anything if the world does not work together to keep another one from happening."
The room was quiet around them. Blayne could feel the video cameras pointing at him; no doubt the entire country had heard his words. He looked around the chamber, his eyes heavy as the weight of his responsibility fell on his shoulders. He felt the exhaustion of the last day and the true scope of this Phyrexian cataclysm became clear to him. He could not imagine how they were possibly going to win.

CHAPTER 25 - INTERMISSION
'Blayne? Blayne? What's going on?' Henry stood on the deck of the Radiant Dawn, looking over the railing at the Capital Building. Having established a mental connection with Blayne a while back, Henry could now track his movements to some extent. He could tell where Blayne and Varia were but he had no idea what his brother-in-law was doing.
'Henry? Why are you contacting me like this? Did something happen to the ship?' Blayne's thoughts reached him.
'Oh no, we're fine. It's just that you've been gone half an hour and Robin is getting anxious. Have you made any progress?'
'Getting through to them proved to be easier than I expected. Varia used her black magic to show them what the Phyrexians are capable of, so they're taking the plague seriously at least. But now we have to get them to agree on what should be done. And even if that happens, I'm worried we might have to do the same thing all over again until every country knows what they're up against.'
'Fuck, Earth doesn't have that kind of time before the next outbreak Blayne.'
'I know, I know. But if we can get the most powerful countries on board, we might have a chance of stopping it before it spreads beyond our control'
'But how are we going to stop it with your planet's technology? They couldn't contain it in Manhattan without our help and there is barely any mana on this plane. I'm even feeling the lack of magical strength.'
'We may need Jhoira's help with that. It's possible she can help them build weapons to fight the plague. I don't like the idea of sending the Radiant Dawn off to another plane to look for resources and leaving the earth without it's best defense. See if there's anything else Chandra or Maria can remember about the Phyrexians we can use. And tell Robin not to worry but not to wait up: It looks like Varia and I are going to be here awhile.'
'Sure thing Blayne,' Henry said. He reached out to find his other companions aboard ship 'Everyone, if I could have your attention for a moment.'
'Get the hell outta my head blue mage!' Chandra replied in great annoyance. 'If you've got something to say to me then come say it to my face.'
Henry winced and turned to go find Chandra bellow deck. He was starting to think staying in New York and blasting zombies with mana cannons would have been more productive than coming to Washington.
*******
By that night Blayne and Varia were still discussing the plague with the government. Jhoira had brought the ship down to hover a few feet over the ground next to what Robin had told Henry was the Washington memorial. She had agreed to teach the American government anything she could, even though she doubted it would be much use to people who didn't know how to fuel machines with mana. Right now she was completely absorbed in running maintenance on the Radiant Dawn, fussing over every inch of the ship. Although the craftsmanship and talent with which the ship was built made the need almost nonexistent.
Chandra and Maria hadn't been much help either. Apparently the last time the Phyraxians had invaded earth, it had taken the combined efforts of more than a dozen powerful beings from several different realities to stop them. Maria said it was unlikely such a team could be reassembled this time, yet at the same time it may not be needed because there was just a plague and not an army. Now she and Chandra were out cold in their bunk, exhausted by their fight in New York.
The only ones left with any energy or free time where Henry and Robin. Once Henry had set her mind at ease, they had spent an hour talking about the capital city. Henry questioned her about it mostly to keep Robin's mind off the plague and Blayne's prolonged absence, but there were one or two things that actually interested him. The National Air and Space Museum sounded fascinating, as space travel was pretty much unheard of elsewhere in the multiverse. He and Robin decided to go see it. A coat and hat was enough to keep them hidden from the people and with a deadly plague moving in, the museum wasn't exactly well guarded.
It turned out to be a rather fascinating tour. It was amazing how Earthlings could manage to keep such massive objects in the air and move them so fast without the aid of magic. Henry wondered to Robin if people who voluntarily sat on top of giant explosions to be shot out of the atmosphere were incredibly brave or just crazy. Robin laughed and said it was probably a little of both.
Since it had been well into the afternoon when they had arrived, the tour was cut short by a nervous attendant informed them that the museum was closing for the night. The couple returned to the Radiant Dawn to find Jhoira still working, the 'fireballs' still snoring in their cabin and Blayne and Varia still in conference with Congress. Still.
"Varia's nerves must be wearing thin by now." Henry noted to Robin "I'll bet she wishes she and Blayne had just staged a coup and delivered an ultimatum to the rest of the world. Obey them or be destroyed."
"I think Blayne could be a great leader." Robin replied. "But I doubt he'd have the patience for it. If the world wasn't in danger right now he would just keep running off to other planes whenever he got bored."
Henry chuckled, "No doubt Varia would start flaying diplomats with their own blood if Blayne ignored her for too long."
"I dunno," Robin said "She's not the jealous type. But she would keep badgering Blayne to burn down people's homes and slaughter their families if they didn't follow his commands."
"True," Henry said as they sat on the deck watching the sun go down.
"Henry," Robin said as she hugged him tightly "Do you really think we can stop the plague?"
Henry wrapped his arm around Robin's shoulders and gave her an affectionate kiss on the forehead. "If anyone can stop it, your brother can. He's the most powerful and noble person I've ever met and he has a knack for surviving desperate situations. I know he'll do whatever it takes to stop the plague, and I'm proud to fight alongside him."
Robin smiled and nuzzled her head on his chest. "It's nice to hear you say that. It was really scary trying to escape Manhattan all by myself. There was no end to those abominations. Before Blayne showed up on that rooftop I seriously thought I was gonna die. I mean, sacrificing myself for that family... sure... but I was really sad I was never going to see my family again." She looked up at him, wiping a tear from her eye. She gave Henry a halfhearted smile "But that's Blayne, he always comes back for me."
Henry looked deeply into Robin's eyes and stroked her cheek with his free hand "He's not the only one," He said solemnly. "I'm never leaving your side again until we've completely eradicated every last spore from the face of the Earth."
They moved towards each other in unison and kissed passionately until long after the sun had sunk below the horizon. When they finally pulled away the stars had started to come out.
"Come on," Robin said, sitting up and grinning in genuine happiness. "Enough gloom and doom. We should make the most of the time we have now." She took Henry's hand and pulled him to his feet with her.
"Yes dear." Henry said grinning as she led him below deck to their cabin.
Once they reached the cabin, the two lovers took things slowly. They started by lying on the bed: naked and spooning. Henry's chest was pressed against Robin's back as his hands roomed her body. His right hand went down between her legs while his left hooked over her shoulder and teased her breasts. He kissed her along the nape of her neck and Robin responded by rubbing his cock between her butt cheeks.
"If I had had told you a year ago when your brother became a Planeswalker, that seven months after he battled a dragon over New York and married a woman from a world full of vampires and demons, you'd be lying in an airship with your fiancée molesting you while your brother was in Congress trying to save your planet from alien plague, what would you had said?" He whispered in her ear.
Robin laughed, "I would have said 'who the heck are you and what are you doing in my apartment?' Then I would have thrown a frying pan at your head. Got anything else overly longwinded to say?"
"Not really. What about now that you're here?" Henry asked nibbling on her ear.
Robin sighed, "If it weren't for that horrible alien plague, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."
Henry brought his hand up to Robin's chin, and then slowly turned her head up to his to kiss her on the mouth. Their tongues caressed each other gently. Henry pushed a finger between Robin's pussy lips and for a moment she felt like she was in heaven. When they broke the kiss Robin reached up with her hand to stroke Henry's beard. For several minutes they continued to gaze at each other in silence.
"Can I tell you a secret?" Henry finally asked.
"You can tell me anything my love," Robin said. Henry was taken aback by her sudden romantic pronoun.
"When you woke up on that reef on Luvion," Henry said as he continued to slide his hand along her slit. "You looked so beautiful that if Varia hadn't been nearby trying to fix Blayne's injuries, I would have spread your legs and taken you right there in broad daylight."
Robin gasped, both at his bold confession and at his finger simultaneously pressing against her clit. She felt her cheeks burn and her heart pounding in her chest.
"Wha... what if I had tried to stop you?" Robin stuttered, not sure if she should be horrified or flattered. If she was being honest with herself, if Henry had tried to have sex with her back on Luvion, she probably would have gone along with it.
Henry smiled a big smile that made Robin's heart melt. "The way you looked up at me when you opened your eyes, I knew you wouldn't." He leaned in close and whispered in her ear. "Just like I know you're not going to now."
Henry removed his hand from Robin's cunt and it slipped around through her legs from behind. He lifted Robin's thigh up in the air and pressed the head of his cock against her opening. Robin gasped while he took his time teasing her, poking her sex with the tip but not pushing it in. She gripped the bed sheets tightly between her fingers.
"Oooooooh, oh Henry," She whimpered, "Quit teasing and get inside me already. Don't make me wait any longer," She pleaded.
Henry kissed her on the cheek. "As you wish," He replied, and promptly plugged into her love tunnel. He didn't go all the way in, but his dick went far enough to make Robin shudder and mew with joy.
"Oh yes," she said, biting her lip.
"I love you Robin," Henry said with as much sincerity as he had every time he told her so.
"I love you too." She replied closing her eyes and laying her head on the pillow.
Henry wrapped his left arm tightly around Robin's torso beneath her boobs and began thrusting into her pussy. He pressed his head against her shoulder as his breathing shuddered. Even though they had made love for three hours the night before, it still felt like he was fucking her again for the first time in months. Her tight wet pussy felt so good as his cock slid back and forth inside her.
His mind traveled back to the first day they had spent as a couple. Blayne must have thought very highly of him to allow Henry to spend a whole day alone with his sister even when he suspected Henry would try to make a move on her. Until Blayne and Varia had walked in them making out on the couch, that apartment had been their whole world. Henry and Robin had spent most of the day in bed, holding each other and kissing in between bouts of passionate lovemaking. They had only gotten up occasionally to use the bathroom, eat meals or watch TV on the couch. The only reason they had been wearing any clothes at all when Blayne and Varia showed up was because they had ordered pizza that morning and had to answer the door. It had easily been the happiest day of Henry's life.
Robin's mind was almost completely blank. As they made love the rest of the world just slipped away. She forgot about the plague, about her brother and sister-in-law still debating with Congress about mowing down undead abominations back in New York. She was completely absorbed in the moment. Behind her eyelids she saw nothing but a happy white bliss. The only thing she was aware of was the wonderful feeling her fiancé's mighty manhood thrusting in and out of her hungry pussy.
Henry decided to speed her up. He let go of her torso and slid his hand down over her abdomen to her cunt. Using his thumb and forefinger, he gave her swollen love button a series of soft squeezes. Robin let out a long low howl and dug her fingernails into Henry's forearm. She was already well warmed up thanks to their earlier foreplay and after a minute of Henry's teasing she seized up and came. Henry held his cock deep inside her as he rode out her convulsing pussy and shuddering moans. He was glade he had made her orgasm quickly: his arm was getting tired.
While Robin was still panting, Henry pulled out and rolled her over onto her back. He spread her legs wide, hooking his elbows under her knees. Kneeling between her legs, he aimed his still erect cock at her entrance again. Robin responded by biting her finger in anticipation. She reached down with her other hand and spread her pussy with her fingers as an invitation. Henry grinned and wasted no time in plunging his cock inside, burying it up to the hilt. Robin cried out and gripped the corners of the pillow her head was resting on.
This time Henry pounded her cunt without restraint. His hips were a blur as he pushed his dick completely inside of her again and again. Robin's head was thrashing from side to side in sheer ecstasy. Henry continued impaling her for at least two minutes. He was proud of his own stamina and decided he would try to hold out so that he and Robin would cum together. Her adorable moans told him she was close.
He leaned forward, folding her ankles up around her ears. At this angle he used his whole body weight to thrust into her as hard as he could. It was too much for Robin. She dug her fingers into the hair on back of his head and opened her mouth in a silent scream. Her whole body trembled as she came even harder than before. Henry's dick shuddered as he finally released his own orgasm inside her as well. Then they collapsed in a sweaty, panting, euphoric pile of limbs and flesh and cum.
Afterwards they spooned again in the reverse of the way they had when they began. Henry lay on his side while Robin held him from behind. Her fingers played with the hair on his chest while her breasts were pressed against his back. She laid her head against his shoulder and had one leg wrapped possessively around his waist. She was ready to fall asleep when an idea occurred to her.
"Henry, wake up. I just thought of something," She said excitedly, slapping him on the arm.
"Wha? What is it Robin?" Henry replied sleepily, opening his eyes.
"Henry when this is all over, you're still going back to your world right? You wanted to use the Black Lotus keep a world war from starting." She asked.
"Yeah, that was kinda the plan." Henry said. In truth, he had barely thought about Imriel since he got back from Idena. His attention had been focused completely on protecting his wife. He thought about the flower he still carried in his jacket pocket. Now Henry remembered the warning Blayne had given him on their way from New York to Washington, from some Planewalker named Jace:
"Some worlds we Planeswalkers just can't do anything for. Ravnica is much like his world of Imriel, constantly battling itself and always teetering on the edge of destruction. For some worlds, that is simply where the balance belongs."
No rest for the wicked, Henry thought glumly.
"Well with this ship, I'll be able to come and visit you in person!" Robin exclaimed happily.
Henry's eyebrows shot up. "You really think Jhoira would let us use her ship like that?" He asked as he rolled over to look Robin in the face.
"I don't see why not. As long as the something doesn't threaten the other Planes, what else is she going to use it for anyway?" Robin reasoned.
Henry thought for a moment, considering the implications of cross plane transportation. "I'll miss your angel form, but it's worth sacrificing to have the real you around while I'm away from Earth."
"Plus there won't be any time limit: we can be together as long we want!" Robin continued. "Heck if we can't salvage my apartment, I could even move in with you on Imriel."
