"We won't waste time talking," continued Bommai, "I am ready for another."
A month and half later Bommai was in the bus for Ooty. She sat at the window seat and Rohan was standing outside in the crowded bus station. A broad smile wreathed her face. She tapped her tummy.
"He is in there," she said.
"How do you know that it is a he not a she," he said.
"I know. I also know he will be tall and handsome like you and will become a famous engineer."
The bus moved. Rohan made use of his height to reach for her and pinch her on the cheek.
"Won't we meet again," he said.
"When we are born again, maybe. I wish to be born a Toda. But you would be born in the plains."
"No, to be with you I will also be born a Toda," he said.
"You want to be my husband or my uncle?"
"Your husband," he said.
