Hallie Parker stared up in her bed slowly counting the ridge patterns that wound their way across the ceiling. A soft snoring emanated to her left reminding her that of why she was counting the blasted ridges in the first place. For the last four and half years, both Hallie and her twin sister Annie had shared this room together at her father's house in Napa California.
Through a series of rather extraordinary events both Hallie and Annie had met at a summer camp that, unbeknownst to their then separated parents. They then forged a friendship and uncovered that they were one another's lost siblings. At first meeting, the two girls had been at odds, staring down the tips of their foils at a fencing competition. Hallie had just finished off one of her opponents when Annie had been walking by with friends. With an open challenge and some skill of her own, Annie had accepted to try and best the current camp champ. Both girls had gone round after round until Annie had bested Hallie, effectively ending her winning spree.
The surprise showed on both girls' faces when the fencing masks were removed, revealing mirror images to all the spectators. Though it had completely unnerved Hallie, she had tried to make light of the similarities by making fun of Annie's face and ears, and gaining laughs from all her friends. The jokes escalated to challenges, the challenges to dares, and finally serious pranks to where finally the camp director forced both girls to solve their difference by placing them together in a small cabin. A thunderstorm, a truce, a brilliant plan to re-unite their parents in romance, and the sabotage of their father's planned wedding, transformed a camper rivalry into a loving sisterhood and tight friendship.
Following the re-uniting of both parents, the girls had bunked together, the family taking turns living in London and the Napa Valley hacienda in California. Hallie and Annie enrolled in school and graduated at 15 years of age with honors. Public school had been easy enough for the two and upon their freshman year of high school both girls had no trouble meeting assignments and deadlines for each class.
While both girls looked exactly the same, their attitudes and personality differed greatly. Hallie was outgoing and adventurous in almost any endeavor, often times taking and giving outrageous dares merely for the thrill of it. Annie, on the other hand, often held herself more reserved in her activities and chose the more conservative, if not cautious approach to life. But, as is often the case with twins, where one went the other typically followed suit. A major change in their social life began two weeks ago on their 18th birthday. The ban on guys had been lifted, with strict guidelines of course. Both parents had agreed that the girls could date, as long as it was a double date with the other twin with the hopes that one (likely Annie) would keep the other (definitely Hallie) from doing anything rash.
The loosened restrictions were well timed at three months from the school's Fall Formal. That upcoming night and an earlier jaw-dropping revelation from her twin wouldn't allow her sleep. Time continued to pass slowly and Annie's snores began to grate on her already frayed nerves. Light reflected on the water of the large in-ground pool bordering the east side of the house and created animated shapes on the light blue colored curtains currently covering the open window.
Counting the plaster ridges hadn't helped and she was almost halfway across the ceiling. She glanced over at the at the small square digital alarm clock and held her gaze one the bright green numbers until it changed. 1:19 AM. Hallie closed her eyes and tightly held them there for three seconds and sighed loudly. This so totally sucks!
Stealing a glance over at her sister lying in the king-size bed and groaned; still asleep. Of course, she thought, you shocked me, not the other way around. With one exaggerated motion she had thrown the covers up and off of her while swinging her legs up into a pivot and sat up with her hands down at her sides, palms down. She glanced about the room and tried to decide what to do. As if in response to her thoughts a low rumble sounded from her stomach. Hallie glanced down and shrugged to herself. Well, that settles that question.
With a small huff, Hallie stood up and wandered over to the closet. Unlike her sister who always wore pajama pants and a matching shirt, Hallie preferred to sleep in a short night shirt with out any additional restrictions. Unfortunately this had the drawback of having to don a bathrobe or shorts if she wanted to lounge about the house. She unhooked one of two matching dark green bathrobes and put it on, tying it in place. It took less then a minute to navigate down to the kitchen and pick through the refrigerator for something that required no preparation. Okay, something easy, something easy...Ah! String cheese. Grabbing the package without bothering to separate each one off, she shut the refrigerator door and sat at one of the counter high barstools.
Sitting there, peeling pieces of cheese off she let her mind wander. Without fail, it returned to her new found freedom into the dating realm and the events earlier this afternoon with her sister. From there, her mind began to think about everything that had happened that afternoon.
It was a revelation about her sister was most troubling. And if that hadn't been enough, guys were also on her mind. Specifically, two guys they'd met at the end of the previous school year; Aiden and Ewan, were now available to date.
Before:
Aiden and Ewan Jacobsen were brothers, twins in fact, that had transferred mid school year from a high school in Tucson, Arizona. Both guys stood about five foot, eleven inches with a sandy brown hair color cut just below the ears giving a shaggy hairstyle. Their father was a system's analyst for the military had moved his whole family just north of San Francisco when his contract had expired. The guys had then enrolled in the same high school as the Parker's mid year. When they'd transferred schools, some credits had mismatched with California's education requirements and thus, both of them seniors in Arizona were required to take additional classes to meet all provisions for graduation, effectively placing them back in their junior year.
The 19 year old twins Aiden and Ewan were mirrors of each other with their dark brown eyes, face with good proportion to their mildly muscled torso, and lean but not wiry legs with defined calves. Aiden and Ewan both tried out for basketball and track, quickly deciding that track suited them better. Hallie and Annie now chose to sit on the bleachers doing "homework" while the guys trained. Every girl in Hallie and Annie's Anatomy and Physiology class had swooned the first day they strode into lab. Mr. Henreys had called the class to attention and paired them with Hallie and Annie (much to the annoyance of the other junior girls) for the remainder of the year. Aden tended to be quiet and reserved, where Ewan did most of the talking. Naturally complimenting in personality, the twins had paired: Annie to Ewan and Hallie to Aiden.
A casual friendship had developed into a playful banter every day at school that had a few guys jealous and drew murderous glances from the female crowd. Hallie, Annie, Aiden and Ewan had started hanging out at lunch and any class that they took together. Before any of them realized it, the school year was up and summer vacation was in full swing. It was difficult to keep up contact during non-school hours since the term boyfriend was some-what taboo in the Parker household. Knowing the rules against dating, both girls had kept their friendship with the guys to themselves. When school was set to start earlier in London, both Hallie and Annie had requested to stay in California, as trying to change schools for their senior year would be hard enough. The logic sound, their parents had reluctantly agreed to let them stay with Jessie, their maid.
Already two months into the school year, her parents had flown to London to spend time with the grandparents and had flown both Hallie and Annie out for their birthday. They spent the week shopping for clothes and enjoying some expensive gifts including a new digital SLR camera for Annie, a new saddle for Sprout (Hallie's horse). Two laptop computers, additional wardrobe, and some spending money also accompanied their trip. Both girls found it hard to leave London, but once they flew into the San Francisco International Airport with Jessie, they felt exhilarated that they would have a little over a month to themselves before their parents returned.
The drive up from San Francisco had taken a little under two hours and they'd unpacked their travel clothes and found homes for their birthday items. Hallie Spent the afternoon grooming Sprout and challenged Annie to a race on their dad's horse, which she won hands down. By sunset, both girls were upstairs getting ready for bed and, once Jessie had gone back downstairs, started discussing the upcoming event at school: Senior Fall Formal.
"First off, you know I'm no good at riding." Annie threw up her hands in exasperation, "I don't know why you complain that I'm not competitive about it." She unzipped the nylon suitcase holding her laptop and began unpacking the power cord.
"Well I'm sorry if you haven't gotten better, but it's not my fault for wanting a little bit of fun now and then." Hallie turned her head in an incredulous smirk with her eyebrows up.
"Sorry Hal, but riding isn't on my list of skills to better, at the moment." Annie had booted up the computer and was pulling up the internet browser to a website that Hallie didn't recognize. Flash previews of dresses flashed across the screen and various styles, cuts and colors shown in cascades as the website loaded.
"What are you looking up anyway?" Hallie watched as Annie began to scroll through the selections.
Annie looked over, smiled and winked then turned back to the screen. "Mom has connections with certain 'people,'" her hands gesturing into air quotes, "in the fashion communities that design clothes like: evening dresses, cocktail dresses, and really awesome formals for all kinds of events."
"Yeah. So?"
"So," Annie dragged the word out, "you remember the Fall Formal coming up November 10th?"
Hallie tried to look expressly sarcastic and rewarded her twin with an un-committing shrug. Annie raised her eyebrows with a knowing look.
"Uh huh...and I'm sure that the possibility of the Jacobsen twins being without dates, and possibly interested in taking us doesn't mean anything to you right?" Hallie felt her cheeks flush and she looked away knowing full well that Annie had gotten the exact reaction she had pushed for.
Hallie said nothing, prompting Annie to continue. "So..." Annie paused for a small amount of emphasis before continuing. "I figured if we do get asked, we might as well show up all the other girls that are already jealous of us with a truly kick-butt dress!" Annie couldn't help the enthusiasm that saturated her eyes. Hallie couldn't help but smile at the thought of seeing the reaction of all the girls that had given them constant dirty looks as they walked by with the handsome men.
"First off, it's 'kickass dress' and just because we've been hanging out a lot, doesn't mean they're going to ask us to the Fall Formal, or that I even want to go with them." While her words belied her excitement, she felt her cheeks burn again as she thought about the scenario.
It was all Annie could do to barely contain her laughter at her twin's insistence of disinterest in going out with one of the cutest guys in the school. Okay, that wasn't quite right. Ewan and Aiden were the cutest guys in school and Annie had no doubt that they could have any girl they wanted. Now that dating was open to both girls, even if Hallie wouldn't confirm it, the Jacobsen twins were now on their radar too.
The very idea that both had been restricted from dating until their 18th birthday had made the whole thought of relationships seem impossible. For that reason, both girls had worked hard academically to ensure everything necessary for a college preparatory diploma in the following spring. Having wealthy parents played no small factor in adhering to their wishes, regarding of how the twins might view them. Legally adults, the girls could choose to move out and date anyone they chose, but out of respect for their parents, and the funding for college that they provided, both had agreed it was best to simply submit.
Though she wasn't ready to admit it until Hallie fessed up, Annie was just as hopeful to be the interest of the Jacobsen twins as any other girl in school, perhaps even more. For the moment, Annie merely shook her head and groaned. "Uh huh, right..." Annie said as she looked back at the screen for a few seconds then turned back to her sister with disbelief. "Bullshit." She said each syllable bouncing her head back and forth in emphasis.
Hallie felt her face grow hot and red, hotter than it had the first time and she her shoulders fell in defeat and she looked seriously at her twin sister. "Please...tell me, it isn't that obvious around them?"
Annie smiled mischievously and winked. Hallie felt embarrassment and despair creep up over the twisting butterflies that had begun churning in her stomach at the thought of being asked to Fall formal by Aiden Jacobsen. Joy, she thought grudgingly at herself, the whole world knows that I like him except him. She sighed heavily and planted herself on the large king size bed that they now shared.
Annie was clicking away on her computer until she found what'd she'd been looking for and then turned with a smile, pointing at the screen. Hallie followed her hand back to the screen. The website showed a rick, silky blue dress with a angular cut at the bottom looking like a jagged four pedal flower with the opening coming up to just above the knee. The top wrapped around the chest with no straps and joined in thin one inch strips in the back, leaving about an inch of bare skin between each tie down the length of the back to just above the buttocks. The dress, with the flash of skin, still gave the appearance of modesty by showing just enough to get the looks desired while still providing the covering that their parents would demand.
Annie's smile broadened. "If they ask? Maybe you haven't noticed, but they don't exactly act disinterested in us. I mean, come on, they don't hang out with any other girls, so, unless, god forbid, they're gay, which I find hard to believe anyway, I think we have as good a chance, if not better than any of the girls at school." Hallie was amazed that she'd even managed to get all her points into one sentence, let a lone one breath. However, it was too enticing a point for her to argue too intensely.
Hallie glanced back at the screen and envisioned the how the dress would hang and look as she danced with Aiden with slow music in the background holding her hand around his neck while his hands hung just below her lower back...
"Hello? Earth to Hal, your body is lost down here, missing your mind!" Hallie was suddenly aware of a hand waiving in front of her face. She shook her head and looked at her sister with a somewhat dazed expression. She sighed heavily again and her shoulders fell. She suddenly felt too warm and her blood beat in her ears.
Annie's annoyance turned to concern, "Hey, are you okay?"
Hallie shook her head as if trying to wake from a somewhat groggy sleep. "Yeah." She said after a few moments, I think I'm gonna go take a shower and get ready for bed."
Annie shrugged and then turned back to the computer, "Try not to have too much fun in there." She bookmarked the page and went back to browsing the dresses. Hallie's face flushed and her freckles all but disappeared in the dark pink color of her cheeks. She could feel her pulse as it throbbed in her chest and seemed to grow in dull intensity from embarrassment, or perhaps something more. She went over to the dresser and grabbed one of her favorite night shirts, a dark blue with a picture of a horse, and headed towards the large main bathroom.
Nicolas Parker wasn't the type to have extravagant luxuries, but when it came to the bathroom, he'd had the two showers, one in the master and the main bathroom, custom designed. The shower units were mirrors of each other, each a five foot square with four nozzles three positioned overhead with one dead center and two centered on either side pointing in towards the center. The final nozzle was located in the center of the wall and faced toward the shower door with a connected attachment that allowed the stream to flow out hitting about waist level in a soft flow or a knob redirected the flow to a hand held nozzle. The only difference between the main bathroom and the master, besides more closet space, was the main bathroom did not have a bathtub. The Master bathroom contained a large oval bathtub that contained a water heater and jet system. Hallie's personal preference was a long hot shower while Annie preferred to soak for hours on end in a tub could easily fit three people comfortably.
Hallie walked in and set her night shirt on the sink and retrieved a towel from the tall cabinet beside the vanity. Setting the towel next to her shirt she began to undress by pulling her tank off and reaching back to unclasp her bra. The clasp popped loose and her breasts fell forward slightly as they became freed from their cotton restraint. Both girls spouted the slim figure of their mother with long lean legs and gentle arms. At sixteen, their hormones began to change their body accentuating many attractive features. The scrawny thin frame began to fill out in rather pleasant manner. As is often the case, attractive parents sire attractive children. By eighteen years of age, their hips widened by a barely noticeable two inches that gave their agile bodies a pleasing curve that traveled in to a size four waist and a smooth flat stomach on up to a pair of nicely shaped 36B cup with dime size pink areoles peaking up to two very perky nipples.
The guys at school hadn't really started noticing them as much as other girls. The Parker twins didn't have large breasts or wide hips and didn't wear revealing clothing. At least, not compared to many of the prominent cheer leaders for the school football team. More than a few rumors had circulated about such buxom beach babes and their willingness to put out for any jock willing to grope them.
Hallie and Annie both had opted for fencing to fulfill the mandatory physical education credits. The purpose was to avoid mainstream sports as much as possible, thereby limiting exposure to guys only interested in bodies. Still, as both sets of twins had spent time talking, the lack of the physical aspect in their relationship had, at least to Hallie, started to occupy more and more of her thoughts.
Hallie pulled grasped her thumbs into the waistband of her jeans and shifted back and forth until she had eased out of them, pulling her cotton panties down with them. She threw the dirty clothes into an open hamper and reached for the shower levers. This was perhaps the best feature of the shower; the placement of the lever was at the edge of the shower, near the glass door, allowing the water to be turned on without the operator getting in the way of the cold stream. The brass nozzles sang to life and a fine mist filled the glass enclosure.
