Angel nodded, "yes they certainly are. I just don't understand why Isobel is always picking a fight with Owen."

Smiling, "In time you will understand Angel," said Gavin as he continued, "but come on, it's dinner time."

"Gavin, I really don't think I should go in there in front of everyone. Can't I just bring something small up to my room?" asked Angel.

"And miss another confrontation with Layla? I think not," stated Gavin, while smiling even more.

Mortified, Angel turned to look at Gavin. "You heard?"

Laughing, "Everyone has heard how you punched Layla. I only wish I could have been there to see it. It must have really been something to see the expression on her face," said Gavin. "Oh well, I am sure there will be more encounters."

Angel shook her head. "What must everyone think of me now? Ugh, I really screwed things up, haven't I?"

"Of course not! You have just won even more people in favor of you. Many thought you weak, and that you wouldn't be able to handle any of this. But you proved them wrong. If you would have just turned around as you were walking away, you would have seen all the smiling face and even some members were bowing to you, as you passed them by," explained Gavin.

"What? Why," asked Angel. Clearly she was confused beyond anything.

"Don't you see? This is a wolf pack. You above all people now, need to show your intelligence and strength in front of everyone. You need to show everyone that Cullen made the right choice of having you as his mate. You will be the Alpha bitch, so you will have to put a few pack members in their places if they over-step boundaries," Gavin continued to explain. "Sheesh Angel. Haven't you ever watched the discovery channel?"

Smiling, Angel nodded. She understood what Gavin was saying, but it was another thing to actually do it. Angel had never fought unless she really had too. Angel kept on mulling everything through her brain, and was interrupted by Gavin grabbing onto her hand, and pulling her toward the dining room.

"Come on, before our food gets cold. Actually Cullen should be there too."

Once they arrived, Angel was able to spot Cullen right away. He looked so serious and deep in thought while talking with a few members. As soon as she entered the room, Cullen noticed right away. He excused himself from the group, and walked over to Gavin and Angel.

"How was your day Angel," asked Cullen.

"Just dandy I guess," said Angel.

Cullen couldn't help but try to look Angel up and down to see if she had any injuries. He had heard about Angel punching Layla.

It seemed like Angel was able to tell right away what Cullen was doing. "Cullen, I am fine. You should be more worried about Layla," stated Angel.

"I could have sworn I told you, not to get into fights Angel," said Cullen as he let out a long sigh.

"Well she started it as usual. And you know I will not back down, especially from that damn bitch. Maybe you should go and have a talk with her instead of me. I was minding my own business and enjoying my time with Isobel, when she interrupted my afternoon."

Cullen took a deep breath. He reached out and grabbed Angel's hand carefully, checking to see if she hurt her hand in any way. "Angel, I am just worried about you, that's all. Under normal circumstances, I am pretty positive that you can handle yourself. But these are not 'normal' circumstances. You are dealing with a pack of wolves. If she wanted too, Layla could have really hurt you, if she changed into a wolf."

Angel was able to see the reason behind that, but she really didn't want to admit it. She just nodded her head. "Well are you going to give me the third degree this whole evening, or are you going to let me eat?"

Smiling, Cullen held Angel's hand and led the way to their table. Once the food was brought out, Angel leaned over to Cullen and whispered, "Just so you don't get the wrong impression Cullen. I will still make you rue the day. I'm not done giving you hell."

Cullen laughed out loudly. Many pack members turning to look their way, wondering what the Alpha's mate said that made the Alpha laugh like that. Many just smiled to see the Alpha finally happy after such a long time.

"I wouldn't have it any other way Angel," said Cullen.

Everyone kept on eating—enjoying their meals. While Angel and Gavin talked about little things, here and there. Meanwhile, Cullen was in a deep conversation with his beta's that were seated on the other side of him. Angel tried to listen in a bit, but Gavin kept on talking her head off.

The whole dinner was going shockingly well. Even some members walked to the main table and started to introduce themselves to Angel. She was really enjoying her dinner compared to the other night. Many of the members really seemed nice so far. Just then, someone called out to Cullen, and asked him how both of the meetings went.

Cullen cleared his throat, and took a drink of ale, before he went to answer the question. "The meeting with the other neighboring pack went as well as it could have gone. They all wish their happiness for Angel, and told me to her," Cullen said as he turned toward Angel, "'good luck'". There were a few smirks around the room and some light chuckles. "Also they were made aware of the possible danger. We don't know who the threat really is, so we are all going to be on guard."

"And the meeting with Cole?" asked Brian.

This was the topic he was regretting telling Angel this way. He thought he would have time to slowly break the news to her, but it seems like this is the way it will have to be. "The meeting with Cole, could have ran a bit more smoothly," said Cullen, while taking another deep calming breath. "It seems there were some weres' that started to move in to our territory. And it is a problem that needs to be dealt with immediately."

Angel looked over at Cullen. What did this mean? Does it mean that Cullen will be leaving for a longer period of time? She supposes this would give her enough time to just deal with this all, and maybe with him gone, she will be able to get a bit more freedom. She started to get a bit happy about this new possibility.

"And what would this entail Alpha?" asked an omega.

"Actually this would mean that I will have to go to Scotland. And I don't know how long I will be gone for. It could actually be a while," said Cullen. He looked over at Angel to see how she was dealing with the news, but was stunned when he saw her smiling. Did she actually think that he would leave without her?

While Cullen continued to explain the situation, Angel couldn't help but think of a plan. Perhaps she will even get the opportunity to go back home and stay there while Cullen was away.

"...so while Angel and I are away in Scotland, Brian here will be in charge of this pack. Treat him how you would treat me. Any show of disrespect toward him, will be dealt with by me personally."

Angel zoned in at the very last minute. But she was able to catch the last bit of what Cullen said.

"Say what?! Where am I going?" shouted Angel.

Authors note: I had to stop it here. The next part was a bit hard to squeeze in to this chapter. Not to worry, the next chapter is already half way written. Within a day, I should have chapter 9 completely done. Sorry again for making all of you wait. :)

Hmmm

She also seems to have just accepted people having sex around her rather quickly when she blushed at a KISS before .

Very confused here.

The letter threatened her family not her and yet that hasn't been mentioned .Why did he not just post a guard around her home and the mother surely would not just "accept" this strange guy taking over her life .When did she agree to be his mate ...not very clear or thought out at the moment but still a good read :-)

I want to choke Angel. There is nothing wrong with being strong and independent but give the attitude a rest. Both of them have to make adjustments, this is what happens in any relationship.
