Owen sat before the fire. He knew what he had to do right now, but he didn't like it at all. When he glanced up at Isobel, he was able to see the frustrating look she was giving.

"Out with it already!" demanded Isobel. She knew it had something to do with Angel, and if he didn't start talking soon, she will take great pleasure in insuring him to have a solo career in a choir.

Sighing, Owen moved closer to the edge of his seat. He began to tell Isobel what had transpired in Scotland, and before he even finished, Isobel stood up and started to march to the door.

"Hey, where do you think you are going?" demanded Owen, as he reached out for her arm, pulling her to a stop.

"Where the hell do you think I am going? I am off to Scotland." Isobel looked at Owen. Was he really this dumb? That had to be the most stupid question she has ever heard. "Now, if you don't remove your hand from me, I will break your fingers...one by one."

"Isobel, I know you are upset, but do not think you can talk to me like that..." stated Owen.

"Oh? Really?" asked Isobel. She took a deep breath, and turned to face him. "How would you prefer me to talk to you darling," Isobel asked in a sweet voice, placing her hand against his cheek in a loving way. "Would it be better if I talk like this? Should I apologize for being ever so rude to you?" moving closer to him, pressing herself against him and leaning her head to him as if she was about to kiss him.

When it seemed like Owen was about to answer her; Isobel pushed him hard.

"Well you can forget it asshole! I don't have the time to try and pamper you with sweet words while my sister could have broken her neck! Grow some damn balls already," said Isobel, while she turned and started to head out the door.

Owen just looked up at the ceiling. Why me? Why must the fates be so cruel? He then turned and ran after Isobel right away. It would seem that he was going to Scotland too. There was no way he was going to leave his future mate, unattended with all those unmated males. Besides, Cullen, will need all the help he can get with this hellion.

Angel decided to lie in bed a bit longer than she normally allowed herself. The bed was beyond comfortable—it honestly felt like she was lying on clouds. She kept thinking about everything that has happened. She wanted to cry again, but she knew that she couldn't. It wouldn't do her any good.

She noticed Glynis was already up and mulling around the room.

"Glynis..." Angel called out.

"Aye lambie? Is there something you need?" asked Glynis.

"Do you think it would be strange to have a tray brought up here for breakfast?" Angel asked, but as soon as she said that, she already knew that she wouldn't allow it. "Actually never mind that question. It would seem that I will have to face them all sooner or later."

"Don't worry lambie. You will be surprised at how many are on your side and are saddened with what happened," Glynis tried to assure her. She had over heard many of the omegas talking while they were doing their household chores. Many of them didn't like how Cullen treated Angel, and were already discussing who could have pushed their mistress.

"I don't suppose a hot shower will be too much to ask right now?" asked Angel, as she smiled up slightly at Glynis.

Smiling, Glynis nodded to the bathroom. "Go on then. But don't take too long," warned Glynis.

After Angel showered, she couldn't help but stare in the mirror. God, I look like a fright! Angel gingerly touched her bump, and winced right away. Sighing, she knew that she couldn't do anything about that, but let time heal it. Angel decided to get dressed in just a simple pair of jeans with a tank top and buttoned up cardigan.

Both her and Glynis headed down the stairs carefully, and started to walk towards the hall where everyone would be seated. Before they both entered, they ran into Catriona.

"Oh Angel, I just heard what happened to you. I am so sorry. Was it true? Did someone in fact push you?" asked Catriona, clearly shocked.

Angel was a bit surprised by her. She didn't think that Catriona could express any emotion on her face. "I was pushed, yes, but don't worry. I am alright as you can see."

"Well I hope they find whoever done this to you. How horrible! Oh look at me chatting away like this, while our food is getting cold." Catriona said with a smile.

Angel nodded. Perhaps she has succeeded in winning at least Catriona over. She offered her a smile, as they all walked into the hall. Once they did, many conversations stopped as they all looked at Angel. I really need to get used to this.

As Angel was about to walk to the head table, Lysander stepped right in front of you.

"Angel, I am so sorry for what happened. I do hope you are not in too much pain," said Lysander softly. He looked Angel up and down, clearly liking everything he saw.

"I am well enough, thank you. It would seem that I am the topic of the day."

Lysander smiled. "If it were up to me, you would always be the topic of the day. Of course I didn't mean for you to get hurt, just that..."

Angel stopped him with the motion of her hand. Smiling, Angel said, "It's alright. I believe I understand what you were trying to say."

Meanwhile, at the table, Cullen couldn't take his eyes off of Angel, especially when she began talking with the MacNare Alpha. Did she really have to smile at him like that?

"Cullen, control yourself," warned Gavin, as he too noticed Angel and Lysander talking.

Cullen did his best, before he couldn't take it anymore. But when he was about to stand up to head over to Angel, someone else came through the door, that he thought he wouldn't see for the longest time.

Angel turned around as someone else walked into the room. What the fuck is she doing here? Angel straightened her shoulders, as the new incomer walked toward her.

"So nice to see you again Angel," said Layla. "Though it seems like I missed some fun seeing that bump on your forehead."

"Layla...what are you doing here?" asked Angel. She never expected to see her here. Wasn't she supposed to have stayed in the States?

"What and miss all this? Besides, I have other reasons why I am here. I was actually invited. Oh, there she is..." Layla indicated with a nod of her head.

When Angel turned around to look at who she was indicating, she saw Edana heading over to them. Angel couldn't believe it. Had Edana in fact invited Layla over? Didn't she know how Layla slept with Cullen more than a handful of times?

"Layla, how nice of you to make it here so fast. It really is great to see you," said Edana, smiling with smugness. Edana knew that Angel wouldn't have liked to see Layla, but isn't that too bad? Layla is someone better suited for Cullen. For a starter, Layla was already a werewolf and not some...human.

"Edana, it is always a pleasure to see you. I can honestly say you have not aged at all since I have last seen you. Still beautiful as ever," said Layla.

Laughing slightly, "Layla you always knew what to say. But if I didn't think it was possible you have gotten even more beautiful. Don't you think Angel," asked Edana. She didn't even give Angel a chance to answer, "Well I do believe Cullen thinks so. He couldn't take his eyes off of you since you stepped into the room."

That is when Angel looked up, and in fact did see Cullen staring at them—or more like it, at Layla. Could she take even more pain so fast? Has she already been replaced and forgotten like yesterdays news? I love you...she kept on hearing Cullen words from last night. Or did she imagine them?

"If you will excuse me," said Angel, as she saw Glynis motioning for her. Angel walked to the high table and passed Cullen without even sparing a glance at him. If he wants her, than he can have her. So why do I feel so bad about that?

Cullen couldn't believe it. What in the world is happening here? It seemed like everything was spinning out of control. He had to fix the problem that he caused last night with Angel, but now he had to deal with Layla? Couldn't I just have a small break? What's next?!

"How do you feel Angel," said Gavin. He didn't like this one bit. He knew for a fact that Edana invited Layla to Scotland. That conniving bitch! He never liked Edana from the beginning, but always kept his mouth shut, considering it is Cullen's step-mother.

Angel, glanced at Gavin, and tried to offer him a smile, but failed miserably. "I am alright Gavin." Angel tried to ignore Cullen, but she felt him staring at her all the time.

As the food was brought out, Angel couldn't find the stomach to eat. She didn't know why, but she just wasn't hungry.

Cullen watched as Angel pushed her food around with her fork. He couldn't help but worry about Angel. "Angel, you need to eat something, please."

"I'm not hungry MacAllister," said Angel coldly.

"Please Angel. Just take a few bites of something," urged Cullen.

Angel didn't know why, but she picked up her toast and began to eat it. Perhaps she didn't like the sad tone Cullen was using. Why the hell should I care?

When things couldn't have gotten any worse, Layla walked up to the table. If Cullen could have, he would have groaned irritably.

Angel narrowed her eyes, as she saw a smiling Layla walk up to the table.

"Cullen, if you are not too busy, maybe you can show me around the area, as I haven't been here since I was a pup."

"Layla, I don't have the..."

"And perhaps we can find some other activities," said Layla, as she smiled seductively at Cullen, "that could occupy our time."

Both Glynis and Gavin were ready to intervene when they heard the glass in Angel's hand shattered.

"Cullen I suggest you get your bitch out of my sight before I permanently rearrange her face," said Angel, barely controlling her anger.

"Angel you know she is not my bi..."

"Who are you calling a bitch?" demanded Layla.

Angel smiled up at Layla, but this smile didn't reach her eyes. "Well technically, you are a bitch, are you not? I would have thought that name to best suit you, for all purposes, along with stupid whore, slut..."

Layla began to growl.

Cullen stood up right away. "Layla get back to your table. Angel, outside right now."

Angel stood up at and glared at Cullen. "You dare tell me to go outside?"

Cullen didn't even answer. He grabbed Angel's arm, and walked her outside toward the gardens. Once there he let go, and let Angel pull away from him.

"How dare you embarrass me like that? Haven't you done enough already to me?" accused Angel.

"Angel, I had to take you away. Layla was on the verge of shifting, and you could have honestly been hurt. If she demanded a challenge, I wouldn't have been able to do anything to stop it!" Cullen tried to explain.

Angel just started to pace. She was just too angry to do anything else. She just had so many emotions warring within her; she didn't know how to deal with them all. She wanted so badly to strike out at Cullen, but then again, she wanted to cry in frustration. Every fucking thing was actually going so well! How the hell did this happen?

Cullen watched Angel pace back and forth. He could feel the anger and frustration radiating off of her—especially how hurt she felt. Cullen was smart enough to just sit there and wait for Angel to be ready. It could be a while...that was for sure.

Angel stopped pacing after long minutes. She turned to stare at Cullen with an icy glare. "What you did MacAllister is unforgivable between last night and just now. How many more times do you plan on embarrassing me in front of everyone..."

Cullen stood up, "Angel you have to know I never meant to embarrass you. And what happened yesterday, I have no explanation. I reacted without thinking. You need to know that I am so sor..."

"Don't even bother apologizing, Cullen. It seems that you will keep on doing something stupid, and hurt me... and I of course take you back after you apologize. No. Not this time!"

"Angel..." Cullen tried to interrupt...

"NO! Is this your plan? Is it your plan to keep doing these things to me, so that sooner or later you break my will? My will to stand up for myself? My will to fight?" screamed Angel. She refused to back down. She will not fall for it again!

Cullen couldn't take this anymore. "ANGEL, STOP IT!" That seemed to quiet her down for a moment. When he thought he was able to finally talk calmly to her, he saw her eyes become an eerie green. Oh shit...

Rage filled Angel. She went and pushed him hard away from you. "You ever raise your voice to me again, when you are in the wrong, I will have no problem causing you extreme pain." Angel took a deep breath. "Now hear this Cullen. Stay the hell away from me. I warned you, that you will rue the day. Now you are going to wish you never met me. And I wish I never met you Cullen." With that said she turned around and stormed off. She never felt so hurt and angered. Her mind was going a million miles per hour. She had to take a few breaths to try and calm her heart beat. Angel blinked rapidly, trying to hold back the tears. ...Wish you never met me...and I wish I never met you... With those words said...it felt like a knife has been thrust into her heart. She never knew those words would hurt so much. She had to find Glynis.

Angel walked quickly up the stairs toward her bedroom, where she knew Glynis would be picking up the room. As soon as she entered and saw Glynis she broke down. Glynis right away went to her lambie with open arms, while trying to comfort the poor girl.

++++++

Cullen just sat there in the garden. He felt like his heart was ripped out of his chest. I wish I never met you... those words will forever haunt him. To see the anger and hate coming from his Angel's eyes...he will never be able to forget it.

Cullen stood and shifted right away. He needed to run and just get away for a while. He howled loudly to the sky. After some time, he realized he ran to the spot where he once brought Angel too. Being here in this setting, caused even more pain.

Cullen didn't know how much time passed, when he first heard a twig snap behind me. He quickly took position, ready to attack.

'Cullen it is me,' said Gavin, through their connection.

Cullen took a less defensive pose as he waited for Gavin to come closer.

'I came out to see how you are doing after you were gone for hours.'

'Has it been hours Gavin?' asked Cullen.

Gavin's wolf head nodded oddly.

Cullen turned around to look at the view around him. He saw how the sun was high in the sky, and knew that Gavin was right. Cullen kept on staring at the view when he asked, 'How is Angel?'

Gavin walked a bit closer to and sat down on his haunches. 'She hasn't left the room yet. Glynis is with her now as well as Eilis' Gavin worried about his Alpha and future Mistress. When all seemed like it was going perfectly between them—the incidents happen and everything falls apart. He knew that he had to get to the bottom of this. Gavin knew he had to figure out who is behind all this.

'Cullen, I don't know what was said, but as your friend, you know you have to try and fix this.'

'Fix this? Gavin she said she wished she never met me. If that's not clear enough, than I don't know what is.'

'Oh, and since when does the Alpha give up? I'm going to be frank with you. You fucked up badly—really badly. Under the circumstances that brought you two together is not very ideological. But it happened that way for a reason. What has happened between you two can either get worse if you two don't try to work it together, or it can just make you both stronger. Now how about you come back, and lunch should be served soon. I suggest bringing something for your mate...' With that Gavin began to walk away.

Cullen sat there, thinking about what Gavin just said. He knew he couldn't brood about this forever. He needed to fix it. Cullen had to have Angel back. Cullen turned around, and began running back to the compound.

Brom was talking to other omegas when all the sudden he saw the black wolf running toward them. He watched as Cullen shifted back. Brom quickly nodded his head in respect to his Alpha.

"Have the men ready for practice in an hour," stated Cullen as he headed inside.

He quickly went into the dining hall seeing many members getting ready for lunch. He saw the smile on Layla's face as she tried to walk over to him. But he just shook his head, and turned around to the kitchen. He met up with the cook, and helped prepare a tray for Angel.

+++++++

Angel just sat on the chair before the fireplace. There wasn't a chill to the air, but Angel felt cold. She knew that she wouldn't be able to hide here forever—but for the time being, she needed a little peace.

Knock Knock...

Angel turned her head toward the door. She thought it was probably Glynis bringing up lunch. Angel told her that she wasn't hungry, but of course Glynis always thought she knew better.

Angel stood up and walked to the door and unlocked it. When she saw it was Cullen, she wanted to slam the door right away. She just didn't want to deal with it anymore. She shed enough tears and took her anger out on her pillows. Angel was just tired.

Cullen quickly stepped into the room partially, so that she wouldn't be able to close the door. "Angel, I brought you some lunch. I knew you must be hungry since you didn't eat breakfast."

Angel took a step back, not saying a word. Perhaps he will leave once he places the tray down? Angel watched him walk in and put it down on the bed.

"Thank you," said Angel, as she held the door open—trying to give him a hint to leave.

Cullen sighed. He knew he couldn't push her. He began to head toward the door, but stopped right before her. He leaned down and put a soft kiss to her forehead and he walked out.

Angel just stood there for a moment, watching him leave. She soon then closed the door, making sure to lock it. Angel closed her eyes, still feeling his lips when he placed that kiss. She shook herself, as she walked to the bed. She looked down at the variety of food before her. Is he nuts? This is too much food.

After some time, Glynis came in. Glynis knew that Cullen was bringing up a tray, and was happy to see him trying. She knew that her lambie and her Alpha had to work things through.

Glynis was very happy to see Angel eating some of her food. But now it was time to see some light back into her eyes. "So I have been thinking with Eilis. What do you say to going to town after lunch?" asked Glynis.

Angel looked up. "Are you serious? We can go to town?"

Glynis smiled. "I wanted to pick up a few items anyways, and of course Eilis always wants to shop. I know she would love to show you a few stores."

Angel couldn't help but feel a bit excited. "Glynis I would love to come with you both to town."

"Then it is settled. But you will need to eat much more than that if you want to go."

Glynis smiled, as she saw Angel eating some more of the items that Cullen brought up. She knew her lambie just needed a little change in scenery.

++++++

Cullen wiped the sweat from his forehead as he kept on circling his opponent. As he saw his opponent shift his footing to fake a right, Cullen quickly countered him. Next thing any of the audience saw was the young wolf pinned by the large black wolf.
